After a long, hard-fought four quarters, Amityville needed just a "Little" 2-yard reception to beat Islip in double overtime Friday night.

Trailing 27-20, Amityville quarterback Sean Walters ran the ball in from 6 yards to make it 27-26, and then brought the offense to the line in the same formation for a two-point conversion. Walters took the snap and started to run again, but stopped abruptly and tossed a jump pass over the middle to Asante Little for the winning two-point conversion to give Amityville a 28-27 victory in Suffolk III.

"You just hope that after you show that play you could sneak a receiver in there open, but they actually had a guy there," Amityville coach Chris Taylor said. "[Walters] put it in a great spot and [Little] made a great catch."

In the first overtime, Amityville (2-1) got the ball first and scored on a 25-yard pass from Walters to Kavionne Green on fourth-and-15, after having a touchdown called back on third down because of a penalty. A two-point conversion put Amityville up 20-12.

"That was huge," Taylor said. "You give all the credit for the kids to be able to respond and not hang their heads and take the next play off."

Islip would answer with a touchdown and two-point conversion, and then took the lead in the second overtime on a Kieran Mullins touchdown run and Eric Rosenthal extra point.

Amityville made another huge play midway through the fourth quarter, when Eric Willis blocked an extra point after Islip (0-3) scored to tie it at 12.

"It was wild," Taylor said. "We've been in some great playoff games over the last four or five years and this game was right up there with them."
