Suffolk Division I Week 7 roundup
Tyler Hall ran for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass to help Sachem North rally from a 18-point third-quarter deficit and defeat Longwood, 25-21, in Suffolk Division I Friday night.
Hall sandwiched touchdown runs of 1 and 7 yards around a 7-yard scoring reception. James Reid made an interception and a fumble recovery — Chris Lombardo forced the fumble — that led to two of the touchdowns.
After Hall scored the go-ahead touchdown with 3:51 left, the Sachem North defense stopped Longwood (5-2) at its own 35. Hall carried 19 times for 73 yards, and he made seven tackles. Anthony Vino passed for 76 yards and one touchdown, and threw for a two-point conversion for Sachem North (5-2).
Riverhead 16, Brentwood 7: Amari Funn rushed for two touchdowns for Riverhead. His 34-yard scoring run in the third quarter gave Riverhead a 9-7 lead and his 15-yard run in the fourth increased the lead to 15-7. Charlie Garcia made a 30-yard field goal in the second quarter for Riverhead (3-4).
Patchogue-Medford 32, Bay Shore 13: Jayden Isselbacher completed 5 of 8 passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 76 yards, including a 4-yard score, and had an interception for Patchogue-Medford (3-4). Nick Elliott had two receptions for 50 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown to give Patchogue-Medford a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, and had eight tackles. Alex Hofmann added nine tackles and Patchogue-Medford rushed for 254 yards.
Floyd 35, Sachem East 13: LaDuke Harris rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and completed all three of his passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns. Dylan Harris rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries and made eight tackles. Aaron Fisher made 12 tackles, Wally Crane made 10 tackles and Caden Lesiewicz made all five of his extra-point attempts for Floyd (7-0).
Commack 37, Central Islip 7: Jake McKay rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns to lead Commack (4-3). Gavin Rothschild had 112 yards rushing and a touchdown. On defense, Jackson Pellegrino made 10 tackles, including a tackle for a safety. Joon Choi made 10 tackles and McKay had four tackles for a loss.
Ward Melville 42, Whitman 0: Andrew Belli threw for two touchdowns to lead Ward Melville (5-2). Nick Gaffney had two touchdowns in the second half on runs of 1 and 8 yards. Ethan Burgos had a 19-yard rushing touchdown and threw a 30-yard scoring pass to Hunter Morgan in the third quarter. Mike Riccardi made seven tackles and Griffin Kramer batted away six passes and made three tackles.
