Half Hollow Hills East scored the first 22 points of their 22-20 win over Northport in Suffolk II Saturday, warding off Northport’s bid to tie the game when Morgan Taliefero broke up a two-point conversion pass with less than two minutes remaining. Jordan Heyman was 8-for-13 passing for 120 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Thunderbirds (1-1) and Max Futter caught a touchdown pass, made two extra points and kicked a 15-yard field goal. On defense, Josh Isaac had 10 tackles, Luca Charalambous had nine tackles and Davian Johnson had five tackles and a sack for the T-Birds. Owen Johansen had two touchdown runs and Zach Perri had one for the Tigers (1-1).

Newfield 28, North Babylon 20: Sean Sullivan was 6-for-11 passing for 200 yards and one touchdown and added 91 rushing yards and two scores on 14 carries. He opened the scoring with a 3-yard run, then connected with Dylan Smith for a 98-yard touchdown pass for a 15-0 lead. Sullivan’s 42-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter sealed the win. Kenny Petit-Frere rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Tim Cabral had seven tackles and a sack for Newfield (1-1).

West Babylon 19, Huntington 0: Drew McKittrick ran for 70 yards and a touchdown and returned a blocked punt for a score to lead West Babylon (1-1). In the second quarter, McKittrick ran 13 yards for a touchdown and Isaiah Richardson caught a 44-yard TD pass from Elijah Outlaw. McKittrick added the final touchdown in the third quarter on a 15-yard return of a blocked punt by Bobby Schwartz. Richardson caught five passes for 101 yards and the TD. Bobby Schwartz also had a sack, and teammate Jace Alvino had an interception. Lucas Chang and Nick Serrano contributed six tackles apiece. The West Babylon defense allowed Huntington to cross the 50 only once.

West Islip 24, Connetquot 7: Rocco Carpinello rushed for 173 yards and two TDs on 13 carries to lead West Islip (2-0). Sal Calderone added 118 yards on 17 carries and had 10 tackles and a sack. Chris Pirapato added 90 yards on 11 carries, made eight tackles, and forced and recovered a fumble. West Islip gained 456 yards. Patrick Keenan had 60 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. Sean Boyle also had an interception.

Smithtown West 41, Smithtown East 21: Brayden Stahl completed 10 of 17 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns. He threw touchdowns of 34, 42, 58, and 46 yards. Jacque LaPrarie had five receptions for 187 yards and three touchdowns. Laprarie also had a 52-yard interception return. Jack Melore made three receptions for 97 yards and one touchdown. Tim Vanderbrink made two catches for 61 yards and had four carries for 23 yards and a touchdown. Vanderbrink led the defense with nine tackles. Smithtown West (1-1) gained 421 yards of total offense.

Centereach 42, Copiague 6: Riddick Drab completed 6-of-8 passes for 72 yards and one touchdown to lead Centereach (1-1) in Suffolk II. Drab also rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns. Andrew Ferreira returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown. Manny Menedez had two interceptions and LaRawn Robinson made five tackles. Jason Zaita had 80 all-purpose yards.
