Suffolk Division II Week 5 roundup

Nick Pepitone completed 15 of 22 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in Connetquot’s 31-21 win over West Babylon in Suffolk Division II Friday. Pepitone’s 10-yard touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter gave the Thunderbirds a 30-21 lead. He also intercepted a pass in the third quarter to keep Connetquot in front. Tommy Malvagno caught four passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Malvagno’s 21-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter gave Connetquot a 6-0 lead and his 85-yard catch in the second broke a 7-7 tie. Tyler McCarthy made eight catches for 101 yards and rushed for 80 yards and a 32-yard touchdown on 11 carries. Lucas Weaver made 10 tackles for Connetquot (3-2). Drew McKittrick rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown, caught two passes for 13 yards, and made six tackles for West Babylon (2-3).
Smithtown East 13, Huntington 0: George Donohue made 10 tackles to lead Smithtown East (2-3). Vincent Camarda, Steven D’Elia and Ryan Cormac each forced a fumble and Ryan Rooney had an interception. Jake Fields went 8-of-15 for 96 yards and a touchdown pass. His 21-yard strike to Dom Galati in the first quarter gave Smithtown East a 6-0 lead. Galati caught four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown and Chris Moran rushed for a two-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Northport 27, Newfield 0: Owen Johansen threw four touchdown passes in Suffolk II. His first two touchdown passes, coming from 40 yards and 15 yards, went to Andrew Miller. Michael Raio’s 65-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter gave the Tigers a 19-0 lead. Evan Gaumont caught a 35-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Michael Raio’s twin brother, Christian, made 12 tackles and Calvin Blissett had four tackles and two sacks for Northport (4-1).
North Babylon 41, Copiague 0: Nathaniel Griffith ran for 228 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries to lead North Babylon (3-2) over Copiague in a Suffolk II matchup. Jawara Keahey had a 102-yard interception return for a touchdown to give the Bulldogs a 13-0 lead in the first quarter. Jaymari Curtis added a 56-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Joel Lomax, Alexander Griffith, Jake Miele and Alex Seger led the way for the Bulldog defense.
