Suffolk Division IV quarterfinals roundup

Joe’ll Spagnuolo ran for 246 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries to lead No. 5 Miller Place over No. 4 Shoreham-Wading River, 35-28, in a Suffolk IV quarterfinal Friday night. SWR led 14-7 at halftime before Spagnuolo scored three touchdowns in the third quarter. Michael Giugliano added 145 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries for Miller Place (5-3), which ran for 461 yards as a team. Nicholas Oliva sealed the win with an interception with 2:30 remaining and was 5-for-5 on extra points. Dylan Zahn ran for a touchdown and threw two scores for SWR (4-4). Miller Place travels to No. 1 Bayport-Blue Point for a semifinal Friday at noon.
