Chris Stumpf threw a 23-yard touchdown to Alex Griffith in overtime to lead North Babylon over Huntington, 13-7, on Saturday in a Suffolk II opener for both teams.

Huntington missed a 32-yard field goal on its first possession.

Nathaniel Griffith’s 48-yard run in the second quarter opened the scoring for North Babylon in the second quarter.

David Dje Bi Baleborzan tied it at 7 for Huntington when he scored on a 15-yard run and kicked the extra point.

Connetquot 28, Centereach 7: Nick Pepitone threw a 64-yard touchdown pass and ran for two scores for Connetquot. Tyler McCarthy added a rushing touchdown and Tommy Malvagno caught a TD pass.

Connetquot’s defense held Centereach to fewer than 90 yards of total offense, forced two turnovers and had five sacks. Ryan Shannon had 12 tackles, three for a loss, and a sack. Gio DeRenzo had 13 tackles and two sacks. Jack Monahahn went 4-for-4 on PATs.

Lindenhurst 28, Newfield 3: Chris Carson returned two interceptions for touchdowns to lead Lindenhurst. Carson’s first return was 70 yards in the third quarter and the second went for 50 yards in the fourth. He also had 12 tackles.

Nick Rose had 12 tackles and two sacks, Evan Chieca made 14 tackles, Tarrin Mussillo had six tackles and two sacks and Christian Campay made 10 tackles.

Bellport 47, West Babylon 21: Donte Phillips scored four touchdowns — two rushing, one receiving and one kickoff return — and ran for 111 yards to lead Bellport.

Justin Miles threw for two touchdowns and returned a kickoff 75 yards for a score. Jason Hunt had 11 tackles, two sacks, a safety and four tackles for a loss and Kyle Brown added 10 tackles and a sack.

Drew McKittrick scored two touchdowns for West Babylon.

Smithtown East 57, Copiague 6: Tommy Azzara led Smithtown East’s offense with 227 yards rushing and four touchdown passes in Suffolk II. Chris Moran rushed for 78 yards on two carries and had two touchdown runs. Will Kaminicki had a touchdown catch.

Mike Devlin had three tackles for a loss and six overall tackles.

Fabrice Cormier scored a touchdown for Copiague in the first quarter. The Bulls’ defense went on to force six turnovers.
