Mark Esposito rushed for the winning touchdown with eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to give West Babylon the win over East Islip, 20-13, in Suffolk III opener on Friday. Esposito had 20 carries for 133 yards including the touchdown run. He completed nine of 12 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles defense held East Islip to less than 100 offensive yards throughout the game and thwarted a Hail Mary pass toward the end of the fourth. Rocco Longo had 10 tackles. Mike Meo had five carries for 60 yards. Jason Fucci caught four passes for 66 yards. Robert Strzala had a receiving touchdown and Dante Terry had a rushing touchdown.

Sayville 20, Rocky Point 14: Jacob Cheshire completed 17 of 21 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns to lead Sayville in its Suffolk III opener. Max Kolar caught all three touchdown passes, finished with eight catches for 116 yards, and made seven tackles. Curtis Russo added nine catches for 135 yards, and Nate Bauland had 32 carries for 112 yards. Aidan Kaler made eight tackles (six solo), and had an interception.

Eastport-South Manor 27, Islip 13: Ryan Huff rushed for 192 yards on 26 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead Eastport-South Manor in Suffolk III opener. His one-yard run with 32 seconds left in the second gave the Sharks a 16-0 lead. Quarterback Michael Kane rushed for 71 yards on seven carries and threw for 175 yards and a touchdown. Kane’s 45-yard touchdown strike to Anthony Gambino in the third gave the Sharks a 26- 6 lead. Brenden Scott made 13 tackles.

Half Hollow Hills West 22, Comsewogue 6: Jimmy Regateiro lead the defense with nine tackles, three for losses, and three sacks to lead Half Hollow Hills West in Suffolk III opener. Joey Venezia had seven tackles, four for loss, and two sacks. Deyvon Wright scored on two rushing touchdowns including one for 20 yards. Peter Adler finished the scoring for Hills West with a 29 yard field goal.
