Suffolk football roundup for Week 6

DIVISION I
Aiden Jorgensen caught an 8-yard touchdown from Dodge Alahverdian on fourth-and-goal with under two minutes remaining, giving Whitman the go-ahead score in its 15-14 road win over Longwood Saturday in Suffolk I.
Mark Rutledge and Jostin Amaya combined on a tackle for loss on fourth-and-1 with 30 seconds left to seal the victory. Micah Brandon and Jarone Park each had an interception. John Mannino kicked field goals of 28, 39 and 15 yards for Whitman (4-2).
Craig Harty had six tackles and blocked a field goal for Longwood (3-3).
Brentwood 34, Central Islip 21: Cris Peralta rushed for 249 yards and five TDs on 28 carries and added two 2-point conversions to lead visiting Brentwood (3-3) to its third consecutive win.
On defense, Peralta had seven total tackles, with three going for a loss. Cristian Amaya finished with five tackles and a tackle for loss and Tulio Chavez added five tackles with two going for losses. Jeremyah Reyes added two sacks, a pass breakup, and a forced fumble.
Elijah Wellington had a rushing TD and a passing TD for Central Islip (2-4).
Sachem North 31, Sachem East 14: Luke LaRocca went 9 for 12 with 203 yards and three touchdowns for host Sachem North (4-2). Lucas Bouchard caught four passes for 120 yards. Dylan Barker went 4 for 4 on PATs and notched a 16-yard field goal.
Ryan Lane threw a 56-yard TD to Brayden Lane for Sachem East (2-4).
Patchogue-Medford 26, Riverhead 12: Aidyn Modeste ran 24 times for 179 and two TDs and added 5 catches for 60 yards to lead visiting Patchogue-Medford (3-3) to its third win in four weeks. Brett Rupolo completed 8 of 13 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Ontonio Papaleo added 50 yards on the ground, six tackles with two for loss.
Josiah Rodney threw two TD passes for Riverhead (0-6).
Lindenhurst 45, Bay Shore 7: Mikey Russo had a 5-yard rushing TD and two passing TDs to lead host Lindenhurst (4-2). Joe Scavone had a 10-yard rushing TD and a fumble recovery. Gino Thevinin had five tackles and a 42-yard TD reception and Ryan Murgatroyd had 80 receiving yards, a TD and three tackles for loss.
Caleb Leichtman caught a 4-yard TD pass from Xavier Hector for Bay Shore (0-6).
DIVISION II
Dominic Prestano ran for 252 yards and a TD on 29 carries and Jovan Greenhill added 185 rushing yards on 11 carries and two TDs as North Babylon finished with 572 rushing yards on 60 carries in the Bulldogs’ 53-43 home win Saturday over Commack in Suffolk II. Tristan Garcia added five carries for 40 yards and two TDs. Christian Creaven-Tintella made all six of his PATs and kicked a 28-yard field goal with 1:22 left to seal the win for NB (3-3). Lincoln Riggs of Commack (2-4) threw for 496 yards and five TDs. AJ Arizonis had 182 receiving yards and four TDs. Mason Ruocco had 196 receiving yards and an 82-yard TD catch.
Newfield 42, Deer Park 21: Micah Washington ran nine times for 77 yards and two TDs, helping Newfield (3-3) overcome an early 13-point deficit. Stephen Carney returned an interception 60 yards to set up his own 8-yard receiving TD from Connor Stebbins. Stebbins went 6-for-14 for 98 yards and a TD and added a 3-yard rushing score. Richie Almonte blocked and returned a punt 15 yards for a TD. Nick Lucenti scored a 5-yard rushing TD. Christian Myrick scored three TDs for Deer Park (1-5).
FRIDAY’S GAMES
Smithtown East 48, West Babylon 7: Antonio Marrone went 5-for-7 passing for 135 yards and two TDs in the first half for visiting Smithtown East (4-2). Charlie Weydig led the defense with six tackles and a sack. Dylan Zizzo had three carries for 50 yards and a TD while adding five tackles, a sack and a 44-yard fumble return for a TD on defense. West Babylon is 1-5.
Bellport 38, Copiague 7: Braydon Cipp completed 5 of 6 attempts for 175 passing yards and three TDs, including TD passes of 74 and 67 yards to Cameron Casher and Elie Malcolm, respectively, to lead Bellport (4-2) to a road win.
Copiague is 2-4.
Connetquot 42, Centereach 14: Javon Barnwell had 20 carries for 142 yards and two TD for host Connetquot (2-4).
Centereach is 1-5.
DIVISION III
Jack Rao threw a pass to Alex Morales, who then pitched it to Jake DeGennaro, to complete a 63-yard TD play as time expired for Islip in its thrilling 48-42 road win over Half Hollow Hills West in Suffolk III. Ezequiel Lazo blocked a 31-yard FG attempt with eight seconds remaining to set up the scoring play for Islip (5-1).
Rao finished 25-for-35 with 505 yards and five passing TDs, adding four rushes for 122 yards and a TD. Jack Halpin had seven catches for 248 yards and three TDs. DeGennaro finished with six catches for 110 yards and a TD and Alex Morales had four catches for 55 yards and two TDs. Najee Simpson had eight tackles and two sacks. Jack Gardner caught six passes for 90 yards.
Jayden Smith returned a kickoff 78 yards for a TD for Hills West (0-6) and punched in a 2-yard TD. Luke Taff completed TD passes of 85 and 50 yards to Gavin Engelhardt. Taff also ran for two TDs.
West Islip 31, East Hampton/Bridgehampton 28: TJ Sonnenberg completed 13 of 16 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns to lead West Islip (5-1) to a road win. Jake Kramer had 107 receiving yards and a touchdown, plus a rushing score. Conor Kenefick had 109 receiving yards and a TD. He also kicked four PATs and a 30-yard field goal. Luke Tate had 20 tackles. Jayson Carlson and Max Tate each had nine tackles. Jack Elko had an interception and Matt Marker had a fumble recovery. Jovan Brewster caught four passes for 36 yards and a TD.
Livs Kuplins had a 4-yard receiving TD and a 90-yard kickoff return TD for East Hampton/Bridgehampton (4-2).
Eastport-South Manor 45, Amityville 0: Max Ferraro scored three touchdowns to lead Eastport-South Manor (4-2) to a road win. Ferraro’s first touchdown came early in the first quarter with a 10-yard run. Matt Beardsley threw for two touchdowns, including a 45-yard score to Thomas Powers. It’s ESM’s second consecutive shutout. Amityville is 1-5.
Comsewogue 35, Wyandanch 0: Jack Campagna rushed for 110 yards and two TDs to lead Comsewogue (3-3) to a road win. Geremias Hernandez had six tackles, a sack and two fumble recoveries and James Lanze had four tackles and two interceptions. Sean Griffin kicked five PATs. Wyandanch is 0-6.
FRIDAY’S GAMES
Sayville 42, Westhampton 14: Patrick Coan completed 19 of 25 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns and rushed seven times for 64 yards and a TD to keep host Sayville (6-0) undefeated. Timmy Holahan had eight carries for 104 yards and a TD. Colin Darling had eight receptions for 63 yards and a TD and Jake Arato caught four passes for 71 yards and a score. Gabe Bethea caught a 47-yard TD pass and Frankie Hanley added a TD run.
Connor Ragimierski ran for touchdowns of 78 and 40 yards for Westhampton (2-4).
Smithtown West 41, Rocky Point 14: Nick Zins had 14 tackles and a sack to lead the visiting Smithtown West (4-2) defense. Michael Cascione rushed for 217 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns. Jake Rearick had five catches for 193 yards and three touchdowns. Nick DeVito went 9-for-15 with 219 yards and three TD passes.
Brogan Casper had a 24-yard pick-6 for Rocky Point (3-3).
DIVISION IV
Shane Kiernan threw seven touchdown passes, completing 27 of 34 attempts for 429 yards to lead Miller Place to a 65-48 road win over Kings Park Saturday in Suffolk IV. He ran for 90 yards on seven carries.
AJ Rudolph had 10 catches for 207 yards and three TDs. Brendan Cannon had eight catches for 120 yards and three TDs. Camryn Hardy ran for 185 yards on 14 carries and two TDs for Miller Place (5-1).
Brandon Shapiro was 25 for 33 for 457 yards and five TD passes and two interceptions for Kings Park (2-4), adding 11 rushes for 85 yards and a TD. Shapiro set the program’s passing yards record, according to Newsday records. Matt Corrado had nine receptions for 172 yards and a TD and Aidan Barbosa had six receptions for 163 yards and two TDs.
Glenn 48, Shoreham-Wading River 10: Joe Competiello tallied seven total touchdowns for host Glenn (4-2). He had 19 carries for 216 yards and four TDs and went 7 for 10 passing for 108 yards and two TDs. On defense, he added a 75-yard kick return TD and an INT. Keith King added 118 yards rushing on 11 attempts and totaled 18 tackles and a sack.
Noah Gregorek threw a 26-yard TD to Brandyn Bland for Shoreham-Wading River (2-4).
FRIDAY’S GAMES
Mount Sinai 35, Center Moriches 13: Daniel Paolella caught two passes from Max Sorrentino for 80 yards and two touchdowns to lead host Mount Sinai (4-2). Dontae Spadaro had five carries for 89 yards and two TDs.
Brandon Smith ran for two touchdowns for Center Moriches (1-5).
Hampton Bays 32, Port Jefferson 7: Connor Bullinger had two touchdown passes to lead host Hampton Bays (2-5). Michael Single recorded three rushing scores. Port Jefferson is 0-6.
