Suffolk football roundup for Week 7

DIVISION I
Brayden King made a tackle for a loss on fourth down inside his own 15-yard line with less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to force a turnover on downs and seal a 14-9 victory for host Sachem East over Patchogue-Medford in Suffolk I football on Saturday.
Ryan Lane found Sal Sinacore in the end zone for a 22-yard touchdown for the go-ahead score and the game’s final TD with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter for Sachem East.
Lane completed 8 of 13 passes for 100 yards and Sinacore had six receptions for 98 yards. Cody Quinlivan had a 2-yard TD run for Sachem East (3-4)./p>
Aidyn Modeste had a rushing TD for Patchogue-Medford (3-4).
Ward Melville 42, Brentwood 20: Hudson Philbrick completed 12 of 14 passes for 183 yards and four TDs for visiting Ward Melville (6-1). Joe Benedetto rushed 19 times for 126 yards and two TDs, and added a 15-yard TD reception.
Cris Peralta, Julius Herrera and Evan Johnson each had a TD for Brentwood (3-4).
Floyd 42, Bay Shore 0: Matt Taiani had a 12-yard touchdown pass to Evan Commodore and a 52-yard touchdown pass to Derek Glock in the first quarter for Floyd (7-0) in its road win. Commodore also had a 26-yard pick-6 in the first quarter.
Ja’Quan Thomas rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns, including a 74-yard score, on seven carries.
David Gonzalez forced a fumble in the first quarter and finished with eight tackles. Bay Shore is 0-7.
Lindenhurst 41, Central Islip 14: Mikey Russo threw three touchdowns, two to Alex Burmeister and one to Ryan Murgatroyd to lead visiting Lindenhurst (5-2). Donovan Argueta had two rushing TDs and Joe Scavone had two fumble recoveries.
Elijah Wellington connected with Mare Motley on a 35-yard score for Central Islip (2-5).
Sachem North 24, Longwood 14: Luke LaRocca completed 14 of 19 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns to lead visiting Sachem North (5-2). LaRocca added 10 rushes for 54 yards.
Jake Spera ran 16 times for 73 yards and a TD. Lucas Bouchard caught five passes for 48 yards, including a 17-yard score, and Gavin Nuzzi caught a 28-yard TD.
Henry Sarro had three receptions for 48 yards and rushed for 33 yards. Dylan Barker made 3 of 3 PATs and a 25-yard field goal.
Micah Laney caught a 49-yard TD pass from Ryan Greene for Longwood (3-4).
DIVISION II
Daniel White rushed for 125 yards and two TDs to lead host Half Hollow Hills East to a 35-21 win over North Babylon on Saturday in Suffolk II. Vincent Banculli threw a TD and had nine tackles, an INT and a forced fumble. Jaiden Bryan ran for 115 yards. Akio Johnson had 12 tackles, a fumble recovery and an INT. Michai Crump had 15 tackles and Gianluca D’Amico had 10 tackles for Hills East (5-2).
Tristan Garcia threw a 16-yard TD to Jason Mack for North Babylon (3-4).
Smithtown East 56, Copiague 14: Antonio Marrone completed 7 of 11 passes for 119 yards and three TDs and added three rushing TDs for host Smithtown East (5-2). Hunter Hughes had 14 carries for 195 yards and two TDs. Dylan Cogliano had two INTs. Asante Daniels had a 33-yard TD for Copiague (2-5).
Northport 42, West Babylon 0: Simon Blissett completed 5 of 5 passes for 152 yards and three TDs and ran for a 51-yard TD for host Northport (7-0). Greyson Cabrera caught two TDs and had a sack. West Babylon is 1-6.
Newfield 50, Centereach 0: Connor Stebbins completed 8 of 11 passes for 143 yards and two TDs and added two rushing TDs for visiting Newfield (4-3). Dante Powell ran for two TDs. Centereach is 1-6.
FRIDAY’S GAMES
Commack 13, Deer Park 8: Logan Curry returned the opening kickoff 71 yards for a TD for visiting Commack (3-4). Jordan Hamilton snagged two INTs and Andrew Bergman had one. Mason Justus, Logan Curry and Tom Conover all had a sack. Lincoln Riggs threw for 171 yards, including a 12-yard TD to AJ Arizonas. Christian Myrick had a 25-yard pick-6 for Deer Park (1-6).
East Islip 28, Connetquot 7: Niko Meyers had nine carries for 173 yards and two touchdowns and Jake Simmons ran 23 times for 151 yards and two TDs to lead host East Islip (6-1). Nick Mastriano caught an 11-yard TD pass from Vincent Feraca for Connetquot (2-5).
DIVISION III
Peyton Reisinger threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 93 yards and the winning 6-yard TD in the second overtime period of visiting Rocky Point’s 35-32 win over Eastport-South Manor in Suffolk Division III football Friday night.
Ryan Espinal caught five passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns, including the tying 11-yard TD and two-point conversion pass in the fourth quarter. Reisinger intercepted a pass as time expired in regulation to force OT./p>
Will Thomas ran for a 4-yard touchdown and the two-point conversion for Eastport-South Manor in the first OT. Cristian Romero answered with a 2-yard run and Espinal caught another two-point pass from Reisinger. Rocky Point held ESM to a 41-yard field goal by Owen Loomis before Reisinger’s winning score.
Romero ran for 52 yards and two touchdowns for Rocky Point (4-3). Max Ferraro ran for touchdowns of 48, 8 and 14 yards for ESM (4-3).
Islip 38, Amityville 6: Jack Rao completed 21 of 30 passes for 200 yards and four TDs to lead host Islip (6-1). Jack Gardner had eight catches for 70 yards and a TD, and Jake DeGennaro had four catches for 30 yards and a TD. DeGennaro added five rushes for 60 yards and a TD. Najee Simpson had two sacks. Coach Jamie Lynch earned his 100th win, improving his record to 100-78 since 2006.
Anari Armstrong had a rushing TD for Amityville (1-6).
Hauppauge 31, Westhampton 21: Liam O’Connor had 27 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns and added a 21-yard reception to lead visiting Hauppauge (4-3). Joe Pistritto had four catches for 133 yards and a TD, and Christian Mooney caught four passes for 61 yards and added an interception, a forced fumble and 12 tackles. Nick LaChapelle completed 11 of 14 passes for 230 yards and a TD and ran 14 times for 72 yards as Hauppauge snapped a 10-game losing streak to Westhampton (2-5).
Nic Simone ran for two touchdowns and Nate LoGelfo returned a kickoff 95 yards for a TD for the Hurricanes.
Comsewogue 24, Harborfields 14: Jack Campagna ran 30 times for 176 yards, including a 39-yard TD, for Comsewogue (4-3) at home. Robert DiFazio had a 17-yard rushing TD to open the scoring. Sean Griffin converted 3 of 3 PATs and kicked a 45-yard field goal.
Landon Paulino threw a 72-yard TD to Ethan Roman and a 26-yard TD to Matthew Rampersaud for Harborfields (2-5).
SATURDAY’S GAMES
West Islip 41, Wyandanch 0: Emmanuel Obayi rushed for 102 yards on six carries and scored two touchdowns for visiting West Islip (6-1). Jake Kramer ran six times for 53 yards and two touchdowns. TJ Sonnenberg went 4-for-4 through the air for 64 yards and threw a 20-yard touchdown to Conor Kenefick.
It’s the fourth time the Lions have held their opponent to no more than seven points. Peter Malone opened the scoring with a 40-yard pick-6. Chase Saminski had six tackles and Jack Elko had an interception. Wyandanch is 0-7.
DIVISION IV
Alexander Bottomley kicked the winning 22-yard field goal as time expired in visiting Mount Sinai’s 16-13 win over Bayport-Blue Point on Friday night in Suffolk League IV. Max Sorrentino ran for the tying 1-yard TD with 1:50 left in the third quarter. Sorrentino completed 13 of 15 passes for 225 yards, including a 70-yard TD pass to Nicholas Vaccaro. Dontae Spadaro caught three passes for 80 yards, rushed for 48 yards and blocked a PAT. Ethan Arita had two sacks for Mount Sinai (5-2).
Colin Reyer had 34 carries for 209 yards and a TD for Bayport-Blue Point (5-2). Colin Clark completed three passes for 80 yards, including a 22-yard TD pass to Colin Most.
Miller Place 32, Port Jefferson 14: Shane Kiernan completed 7 of 8 passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns to lead Miller Place (6-1) to a home win. Brendan Cannon, Jacob Marcario and AJ Rudolph all caught a touchdown pass. Cameron Meadows had an INT.
Corey Juedy ran for a 1-yard TD and threw a 1-yard TD pass to Kayden Juedy for Port Jefferson (0-7).
Babylon 56, Shoreham-Wading River 20: Aidan Winter had 17 rushes for 323 yards and four TDs for visiting Babylon (7-0). Joe DiPalma had 12 rushes for 80 yards and a TD, Joe Rubendall had eight carries for 67 yards and two TDs, and Nick Longo had four rushes for 44 yards and one TD. Jaiden Milner led the defense with seven tackles and Christian Seidenberg and Brady Shaw each added five tackles.
Noah Gregorek threw two TDs for Shoreham-Wading River (2-5).
Glenn 42, Kings Park 14: Joe Competiello ran 14 times for 297 yards and four touchdowns, completed all three of his passes for 94 yards and a TD and added an 87-yard kick return TD to lead visiting Glenn (5-2). Jayce Boyle-Summers caught a 75-yard TD pass. Keith King ran for 67 yards and had 12 tackles. Mike Kilgannon added five tackles and an INT, and GJ Cook had 10 tackles and three pass breakups.
Aidan Barbosa scored on a 10-yard run and Gavin Clark caught a 10-yard TD pass from Brandon Shapiro for Kings Park (2-5).
Hampton Bays 26, Center Moriches 6: Michael Single rumbled for 210 yards and two TDs on 21 carries for host Hampton Bays (2-5). Connor Bullinger completed 6 of 7 passes for 93 yards, a TD and an INT, and added four carries for 25 yards and a score. Owen Haynes caught a 15-yard TD pass and Brayden Talmadge caught three passes for 56 yards.
Dennis Hayes had a 9-yard rushing TD for Center Moriches (1-6).
