One down, one to go for Steven Ferreira ... or is it?

The Sayville quarterback broke the Long Island record for career passing yardage on Oct. 15 and keeps adding to his own record. With 205 more yards last Saturday against Comsewogue, Ferreira now has 1,621 yards for this season and 5,589 yards for his career. He threw five more touchdown passes against the Warriors giving him 20 for this season and 64 for his career, four behind all-time leader Tony Capozzoli.

However, if Sayville makes a deep playoff run, Ferreira will also challenge the Long Island single-season yardage record of 2,743 set by Mike Prahalis of Commack in 2000 and the single-season touchdown record of 34 set just last year by Tyler Heuer of Oceanside. Ferreira could play five more games if the Golden Flashes (7-0) reach the Long Island Championship.
