Two L.I. players honored

For the second time this season, two Long Island players were selected this week for MSG Varsity's Tri-State Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, announced on “A Quick :60” which airs Tuesday night on MSG Varsity (Cablevision Ch. 14).
Tri-State Defensive Player of the Week
Bryan Rhodes, St. Anthony's
In a 38-13 victory over Holy Trinity, Rhodes, a 6-3, 230-pound senior defensive end, had a career high four sacks and recovered a fumble as the Friars extended their winning streak to seven with a 38-13 victory over Holy Trinity.
Tri-State Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Ryan Rielly, Glenn
In a 52-28 victory over Mount Sinai, Rielly, a 5-11, 175-pound senior quarterback (pictured above), set a school record with seven overall touchdowns and 506 total yards of offense. Rielly has already committed to Hofstra for lacrosse. He shared the award with Josh Firkser of New Jersey.
