Morgan Fiedler may be one of the youngest players on the floor, but she proves age is just a number by directing traffic, getting to the rim with ease, and setting up her teammates.

"[Morgan] can see where I am with her eyes closed," said senior forward Peyton Logue-Boyd, who is going to Arizona State for lacrosse. "She knows exactly where I am. The past two years she's been the point guard, my game has elevated so much."

The freshman point guard scored 13 of her 19 points in the first half and had six assists, leading top-seeded Babylon in a 49-26 victory over No. 2 Greenport/Southold to secure back-to-back Suffolk Class B County titles at Suffolk Community College in Selden on Tuesday night. It is the first time in program history that Babylon has won back-to-back titles.

"I'm a pretty cool, calm and collected player," Fiedler said. "I don't let the big crowds get to me. I fall back on my training and all the hard work I put into this."

"She's such an amazing player," coach Chris Ryan said. "She's what the kids call nowadays 'a bucket.' I can't wait to see what the future holds for her."

Babylon (18-3) will face No. 1 Cold Spring Harbor or No. 2 Carle Place in the Long Island championship, on Saturday at Suffolk County Community College in Selden at 2:30 p.m.

The Panthers started the game on a 12-0 run in the first quarter, going to their patented pick-and-roll, on which Fiedler found Logue-Boyd as she dove to the basket. Fiedler was responsible for 10 of their points during the run.

Babylon was in a full-court press for the majority of the game, which forced Greenport/Southold to turn the ball over eight times in the first frame.

"We came out hot," Fiedler said. "We needed to set the tone early so we can prove why we are the best team."

Logue-Boyd had 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Ellie O'Brien and Gabriella Weiss both scored seven points for Babylon.

"It takes grit. I've gotten more aggressive being the person under the basket rebounding," Logue-Boyd said.

Emily Manwaring scored seven points, and Lyla Zablotny had six points for Greenport/Southold (11-6).

Ryan knows he has a young team, and he's excited about what they can do in the future.

"Fortunately, we have great players who are buying into what we do," he said. "We have a lot of young talent. We brought some [junior varsity] kids up that way so they could get a taste of it. Hopefully, we can keep this thing rolling."
