Stuart's free throws give Division win
Sophomore Laura Stuart hit a pair of free throws with 7.8 seconds overtime to give Division a 67-65 win over Lawrence Tuesday in Nassau Conference A-II girls basketball. Stuart, who had a career-high 24 points, hit a three-pointer as time expired in regulation to send the game into overtime and tie the score at 56 for Division (2-2). Senior Susan Ballantyne had a career-high 26 points.
Farmingdale 45, Freeport 36: Nadine Hadnagy (eight) and Alexis Panariello (six) totaled all of Farmingdale's (4-2) fourth-quarter points in Conference AA-I. Courtney Irby had seven points and 15 rebounds in the win.
Elmont 51, Carey 49: Bria Fisher had 29 points and 17 rebounds and hit 1-of-2 foul shots with nine seconds left in regulation to help Elmont (5-2) force overtime in Conference AA-III.
Mineola 53, Valley Stream South 35: Kerri Medlock had 25 points and 16 rebounds and Charlotte Renker had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Mineola (4-2) in Conference IV.
Brentwood 52, Floyd 31: Tiara Goode had 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead Brentwood (1-5) in League I.
Deer Park 42, Bellport 37: Gianna Locker had eight of her 13 points in the second half to lead Deer Park (5-1) in League IV. Kelsey Dillon added eight points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.
Hauppauge 55, Comsewogue 30: Julie Williams had 15 of her 17 points in the first half to lead Hauppauge (6-0) in League IV.
Islip 66, Miller Place 28: Freshman Alyssa Murphy had 11 points, five rebounds and six assists for Islip (5-1) in League V. Eighth-grader Italee Brown-Smikle had 14 points, four assists and four steals.
Amityville 55, Bayport-Blue Point 40: Janiece Jenkins had 21 points, six rebounds and three steals, and Raven Price added 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead Amityville (4-2) in League VI.
Hampton Bays 68, Wyandanch 47: Theresa Carey had 21 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists to lead Hampton Bays (5-0) in League VII.
Shelter Island 60, Smithtown Christian 32: Kelsey McGayhey had 34 points to lead Shelter Island (5-1) in League VIII.

Hicksville 59, MacArthur 45: Pablo Segura had 23 points for Hicksville (4-3) in Conference AA-II.
Valley Stream Central 59, Port Washington 56: Xavier Grier's putback with 1:50 left gave VSC (4-3) a six-point lead in Conference AA-II. Grier had 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Roosevelt 63, North Shore 45: Shaquille Hanson had 13 points and six rebounds and Shaquille Ware had 10 points and 18 rebounds for Roosevelt (5-0) in Conference A-IV. Justin Bell had 27 points and 15 rebounds for North Shore.
Oyster Bay 55, Wheatley 54: Joe Siringo converted a three-point play with 6.5 seconds left in the game to give Oyster Bay (4-3) the win in Conference BC. Greg Nielson had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Siringo added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Longwood 59, Sachem East 48: Robert Dionisio scored 11 of his 20 points in a 27-14 fourth quarter for Longwood (5-1) in League I. Dionisio had 17 points in the second half.
Patchogue-Medford 60, Sachem North 56: Matt Vogel scored on a fast-break layup with 10 seconds left to give Patchogue-Medford (2-4) a 58-54 lead with 10 seconds left in League I. Vogel had 10 of his 20 points in a 21-12 fourth quarter. Cody Montgomery had 14 points, 13 rebounds and 11 blocked shots in the win.
Lindenhurst 63, Connetquot 47: Stew Warren had 20 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks and Jose Marte added 14 points with four three-pointers to lead Lindenhurst (4-2) in League II.
Bay Shore 45, Whitman 41: Devin Farmer had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Bay Shore (5-1) in League II.
Half Hollow Hills East 51, Northport 49: With the game tied at 49 with 15 seconds left, Mike Chemtob hit a layup to give Half Hollow Hills East (1-5) the win in League II.
East Islip 73, Riverhead 59: Senior Evan Maxwell had a career-high 31 points and added 14 rebounds to lead East Islip (5-1) in League III.
Mount Sinai 63, Glenn 55: Mike Guzzardi had nine of his 18 points in the third quarter and added 15 rebounds and four blocks and Greg Kopcienski had 17 points for Mount Sinai (5-1) in League VI.
Chaminade 55, Holy Trinity 48: Mike Walsh had 10 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter and had 12 rebounds and John Patterson added 19 points and seven rebounds for Chaminade (2-2). Holy Trinity is 4-1.
