Alicia Roy was having déjà vu all over again.

The Cold Spring Harbor freshman scored the game-winning goal on a 30-yard free kick in the Nassau County finals Tuesday and scored on a 35-yard free kick in the county semifinals Nov. 3.

Faced with a nearly identical opportunity yesterday afternoon, Roy lined up to take a 35-yard free kick in the middle of the Denton Avenue Park field where she has had so much success in the post season, once again sending the ball over the hands of a leaping goalkeeper as Cold Spring Harbor defeated Center Moriches, 2-0, in the Class B Long Island Championship/Southeast Regional final of girls soccer. It is the 18th LIC for the Seahawks (9-6-1), who advance to play Section V champion Greece Odyssey in the state semifinals Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Homer High School.

"I've been playing soccer my whole life and it's just luck and I'm blessed to have those three kicks go in every single time," Roy said. "I think every player gets in that zone when they have that free kick and it's spur of the moment."

Center Moriches (11-2-4) came into the game having allowed only one goal all season thanks to outstanding play from goalkeeper Kelsey Glanzman.

Glanzman went down with an injury to her left knee in the 19th minute after she charged off the line to challenge Cold Spring Harbor forward Teressa Fazio on a shot. Glanzman had to be helped off the field and was taken to the hospital at the start of the second half.

"She's been our backbone all season," Center Moriches coach Lea Brady said of Glanzman. "She's had such an integral part in the success of our season, let alone our program, so to see her go down and hurt it was definitely devastating."

Jill Almond came in to replace Glanzman and made 14 saves to keep Center Moriches in the game.

Katie Hudson scored the first goal for the Seahawks when her shot bounced off Almond's hands and rolled into the net in the 29th minute.

Stephanie Mahder made four saves for Cold Spring Harbor.
