Farmingdale suffered its first loss of the season tonight, falling 4-2 to East Meadow.

“[We] didn’t have a team effort,” Farmingdale coach Dave Otto said. “We had some great individual play but [East Meadow] stepped up.

“Maybe it’s a wakeup call. It could be a blessing in disguise. I already thought of a million scenarios to put a positive spin on this.”

The Dalers (10-1-1, 10-1-0) travel to Massapequa on Wednesday, but the weather forecast is awful so the game will more than likely be rescheduled for Thursday and result in Farmingdale having to play back-to-back days with Oceanside on Friday.

Otto didn’t feel as if his team was overlooking East Meadow given what looms later in the week.

“It was a pretty quiet bus ride going home,” he said. “We’ll discuss things in practice. We don’t have time to lick our wounds.
