Girls soccer players of the week
The best girls soccer performances across Long Island for the week of Sept. 19 to Sept. 25:
Christina Chopyk, St. Dominic: Scored winning goal in 3-2 victory over Holy Trinity, giving the program its first win since 2009.
Katherine Corcoran, Kings Park: Scored a career-high four goals in a 4-1 win over Eastport-South Manor.
Olivia Czavar, West Hempstead: Had six goals and an assist in two wins.
Alexa Epstein, Great Neck South: Had five goals, including her first career hat trick, and an assist in two wins.
Krista Fitzpatrick, Division: Had one goal and six assists in three wins.
Kristina Gandolfo, Calhoun: Had six goals in a 2-0-1 week.
Dawn Hickey, Connetquot: Scored career-high four goals in 5-3 win over Lindenhurst.
Kim Kolodny, Farmingdale: Scored six goals in three wins, including a four goal game.
Kaitlyn Leahy, Bayport-Blue Point: Had four goals and three assists in three wins.
Hannah McGlinchey, Babylon: Preserved a 0-0 tie for Babylon with a career-high 27 saves against Center Moriches.
Karlin McIntyre, Mercy: Recorded a hat trick in a 4-1 win over Ross.
Emily Rosenthal, Port Washington: Scored five goals in 6-2 win over Herricks.
Nicolette Tortorici, Deer Park: Scored three goals in two games, giving her six on the season.
Nicole Wahlig, Clarke: Scored all three goals in a 3-3 tie, including the tying goal with 10 seconds left.
Jessica Mazliah and Ashley Thompson, Sachem North: Each has scored two game winning goals this season, accounting for all four of Sachem North’s wins.
