Stony Brook won the Suffolk Class C girls soccer championship Friday night, beating Southold/ Greenport, 3-1, in penalty kicks at St. Joseph's (L.I.).

Morgan Pius connected on the Bears' third penalty kick to give Stony Brook the lead. Annie Skorobohaty's goal on Stony Brook's fourth penalty kick clinched the victory. Fiona Farrell made 14 saves, including two in the penalty-kick period.

Stony Brook scored two goals in the final four minutes of regulation to force overtime. Skorobohaty tied the score at 3 with two minutes remaining off an assist from Emily Pius on a corner kick.

Julia Shi's goal from 25 yards, shot into the top right corner of the net, had cut Southold/Greenport's lead to 3-2.

"That was a real turning point for us," Stony Brook assistant coach Frank Macchia said.

Stony Brook will play in the Long Island Class C championship game at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tully Park in New Hyde Park.
