1. ST. ANTHONY’S GIRLS SOCCER The undefeated, untied, defending state CHSAA champions have had one of their strongest seasons in program history, outscoring opponents, 67-8 after winning their second straight CHSAA league title 5-1 Friday night. Led by 20 goals and 10 assists by Brianna Pissaro, a returning All-Long Island selection, and 16 goals and five assists by Brianna Jablonowski, the Friars look for back-to-back state titles.

2. SACHEM EAST FIELD HOCKEY Kristen Shanahan scored two goals and tallied one assist to lead top-seeded Sachem East to a 3-1 win over No. 2 Northport in the Suffolk Class A title game. The Flaming Arrows improved to 17-0.

3. WESTHAMPTON GIRLS TENNIS The Hurricanes capped a 17-0 season with a 4-3 win over Syosset in last week’s Long Island championship. Rose Peruso and Juliet Tomaro defeated Olivia Tiegerman and Alex Flicker, 7-5, 7-6 (6) at second doubles in the clinching match.

4. GARDEN CITY GIRLS SWIMMING The Trojans finished the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record. The team will look to capture its 20th consecutive Nassau title when they compete in the championship meet.

5. VALLEY STREAM SOUTH GIRLS SOCCER The Falcons capped off an undefeated 18-0 Nassau season when Mia Asenjo scored both goals in a 2-0 victory over MacArthur in the Nassau A championship. Asenjo has 21 goals and 16 assists and Bryana Pizarro added 29 goals and 13 assists for the Falcons, which have outscored opponents, 87-5.

6. GARDEN CITY BOYS GOLF The Nassau IV champions finished the season with a 7.5-1.5 win over South Side at Hempstead Country Club. Mark Vitels shot an even-par 36. 7. SACHEM NORTH BOYS VOLLEYBALL Setter Jack Driscoll ranks second in Suffolk in kills (204), third in aces (18) and fifth in blocks (24) for the county’s only undefeated team and the No. 1 seed in the Suffolk I playoffs. A.J. Fitzgerald is fifth in the county with 142 kills.

8. SACRED HEART GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY They won a squeaker of a CHSAA League championship, topping Kellenberg on a sixth-runner tiebreaker. Maggie Maier won her third consecutive CHSAA league championship, running a 19:21.95 at Sunken Meadow State Park. Shannon Thieke was seventh in 20:48.21.

The Warriors (19-0-1) have outscored their opponents 32-3 in eight games since the calendar turned to October.

10. SMITHTOWN BOYS CROSS COUNTRY They were the top team on Long Island entering this weekend’s state qualifiers — and it’s a pretty easy call, too. Smithtown won at the Suffolk Division championships, scoring an impressive 27 points two weeks ago at Sunken Meadow. Smithtown placed four runners in the top 10 at divisions.
