JACOB KLEIN
EAST ISLIP, BOWLING
He bowled a 1,408 series -- a 234.67 average for six games -- to help lead the Redmen to a second-place finish in the state tournament in Syracuse.
MELISSA SHERWIN
MIDDLE COUNTRY, BOWLING
The Newfield senior led Middle Country to its first state championship and rolled a state tournament-record 1,489 series.
ANISA TOPPIN
BAY SHORE, TRACK
The junior placed second in the triple jump at the Eastern States Championship at The Armory. She flew 37 feet, 11 and one-quarter inches. She placed second in the long jump, in 18 feet, nine and one-quarter inches.
TARA BELINSKY
MANHASSET, TRACK
The junior placed third in the shot put at the Eastern States Championship at The Armory, throwing 42 feet, four inches.
KYLE QUINN
WANTAGH, WRESTLING
The junior captured the 106-pound state title with a 7-1 decision over Westhampton's Alex Tanzman. His first-place finish led the Warriors to the team crown.
DAN DELUNA
MASSAPEQUA, TRACK
The senior placed fourth in the 800 at the Eastern States Championship at the Armory, crossing the finish line in 1:55.67.
STEPHEN BOURGUET
MANHASSET, TRACK
The Brown-bound senior finished third in the one mile run at Monday's Eastern States Championships at the Armory. He ran the race in 4:23.53.
MICHAEL HUGHES
SMITHTOWN WEST, WRESTLING
The senior earned the 285-pound state championship with a pin in 2:30 at the Times Union Center in Albany. He finished the season with his 31st pin and a 42-0 record.
