The Shoreham-Wading River girls tennis team celebrates coach Debbie Lutjen's (far right) 300th victory on Tuesday. Credit: Deb Ferry

Mia Wentz defeated Chloe Kobus, 6-0, 6-0, at third singles to lead Shoreham-Wading River to a 7-0 win over Center Moriches in a Suffolk IV girls tennis match on Tuesday. It marked the 300th win in head coach Debbie Lutjen’s 38-year varsity coaching career at SWR (4-3).

“This milestone would not have been possible without all of the girls I have coached, past and present,” Lutjen said.

Wentz is 7-0 in singles play this season.

BOYS SOCCER

Lindenhurst 2, Copiague 1: Gary Alvarez scored the winning goal off a cross from Max Lombardo with five minutes left for Lindenhurst (3-1-2) in Suffolk I. Alvarez added an assist and Tom Andreone scored a goal. Ismael Garcia scored for Copiague (0-3-2).

MONDAY’S GAMES

West Islip 2, Westhampton 1: Charlie Basini scored the winning goal with 18 seconds left in the second overtime off a pass from Nilson Nunez to lead West Islip (3-1-2) in Suffolk II. Peyton Bianca scored the first goal for West Islip early in the first half off a feed from Charlie Mastroberti. Charles Schwenker scored the equalizer for Westhampton (2-3) later in the first half.

Half Hollow Hills East 2, East Hampton 1: Oliver Greenberg scored both goals, including the winning goal with four minutes left in the second overtime to lead Half Hollow Hills East (2-2-1) in Suffolk II. Max Nava made 10 saves and Andre Cabrera made nine saves. Colton Everett scored a goal and Brandon Encalada made nine saves for East Hampton (0-6).

GIRLS SOCCER

Baldwin 2, New Hyde Park 2: Amanda Aguiluz had two goals for Baldwin (1-4-2) and Francesca Curatolo had two goals for New Hyde Park (1-3-2) in a Nassau III tie. Aguiluz scored the tying goal off an assist from Aubrianna Niera in the second half. Niera had two assists.

Shoreham-Wading River 4, Mount Sinai 0: Mia Mangano scored four goals and Mikaella Dubato made eight saves for Shoreham-Wading River (3-1-2) in Suffolk III. Alexa Cordano, Olivia Pesso and Brenna Molinelli each had an assist. Charlotte Laraque had 16 saves for Mount Sinai (0-5).

MONDAY’S GAME

Glen Cove 2, Great Neck North 1: Lily O’Connor scored the winning goal off a cross from Giuliana Portaro with three minutes left to lead Glen Cove (3-0-1) in Nassau IV. Portaro added a goal and Soph Mammone made seven saves. Jaden Maze scored a goal and Juliet Burkhoff made 10 saves for Great Neck North (0-4).

FIELD HOCKEY

Harborfields 3, Comsewogue 1: Emma Glick scored two goals to lead Harborfields (4-1) in Suffolk II. MK Fitzsimmons made four saves. Grace Peyman made 19 saves for Comsewogue (5-1).

Valley Stream South 3, Carey 2: Leo Rodriguez had 13 kills and 17 digs to lead Valley Stream South (5-0) to a 25-22, 25-17, 16-25, 21-25, 15-7 win in Nassau II-C. Jaxon Hunter added nine kills and Gabe Sukhu had 33 assists.

Herricks 3, Valley Stream Central 2: Khalid Rashid had 17 kills and 11 blocks for Herricks (5-1) in a 26-24, 25-17, 15-25, 12-25, 15-10 victory in Nassau I-B. Lucas Ma added eight kills and eight digs, and Justin Lui had 27 assists.

MONDAY’S GAME

Comsewogue 3, West Islip 2: Christina Watson and Sheila Nunez each had seven kills to lead Comsewogue (2-2) to a 22-25, 25-14, 25-21, 16-25, 17-15 win in Suffolk IV. Hannah Montoya had 10 assists and Adrianna Napolitano had three blocks.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Whitman 26, Riverhead 29: Hayli Wuss won the 2.5-mile run in 17 minutes, 29 seconds to lead Whitman (2-0) in Suffolk II. Tatiana Marr placed third overall in 18:41, followed by eighth-grader Elizabeth Beirne in fourth at 19:14. For Riverhead (1-1), Julia Chycherska was second in 17:41, Heather Monroy was fifth in 19:37.
