Jaxson Torres and Matt Sharon threw a combined no-hitter to lead Plainedge to a 6-0 win over Wheatley in a Nassau Conference A baseball opener on Tuesday. Torres struck out eight and allowed two walks in five innings and Sharon struck out three and allowed one walk in two innings. Brady Henderson, Bobby Wescott and Jayden Gaghan each hit a home run for Plainedge.

Hewlett 6, Baldwin 5: Josh Goldenberg entered with the bases loaded and two outs and struck out the final batter to earn the save for Hewlett (2-0) in non-league. Lowen Zuckerman struck out five and allowed three runs on five hits and two walks in six innings to earn the win. Dayvien De Vargas went 1-for-1 with a double, two walks and two RBIs for Baldwin (0-2).

MONDAY’S GAME

Smithtown East 12, Longwood 11: Brooke Hanson scored the winning run on an error after a sacrifice bunt by Riley Connelly to give Smithtown East a walk-off victory in a non-league opener. Hanson scored three runs as Smithtown East erased a 7-0 deficit. Casey Connelly had two hits, including a double, and had three RBIs and two runs. Leila Piccoli went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs and Eva Roman had a hit and two RBIs.

Caroline Alt went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Amanda Vaccaro went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs for Longwood.

BOYS LACROSSE

North Babylon 5, West Babylon 4: TJ Shaw scored the go-ahead goal with 1:38 remaining to lead North Babylon in a non-league opener. Jack Miller had two goals and an assist. Patrick Torre made 17 saves. Andrew Bothe scored two goals for West Babylon.

South Side 7, Gill St. Bernard (NJ) 6: Brendan Vetter scored the go-ahead goal off an assist from Jack Muscarella with five seconds left to lead South Side (3-0) in non-league. Vetter also scored the tying goal with 1:26 left as the Cyclones erased a 4-0 deficit. Vetter had two goals and two assists and Jack DiSarlo made 13 saves.

MONDAY’S GAMES

Westhampton 11, Sachem East 10: Jake Calloway scored the winning goal off an assist from Cayden Peters with 2:19 left in the third overtime to lead Westhampton (2-0) in non-league. Calloway had four goals and Peters finished with three goals and three assists.

Floyd 7, Rocky Point 4: Matt Shaw had 14 saves, allowing just four goals, for Floyd (2-0) in its non-league win. Marc Pluchino added three goals and an assist. Brogan Casper made 13 saves for Rocky Point (0-1), and Robert Walker had two goals and an assist.

Clarke 9, Sewanhaka 5: Liam Morgan scored seven goals for Clarke (2-0) in Nassau IV. Dennis Alvarez made six saves and Ryan Salveson had a goal and two assists. Jawad Kamal led Sewanhaka (0-2) with three goals and two assists, and Mahmood Kamal added two goals and an assist.

GIRLS LACROSSE

East Islip 12, Patchogue-Medford 9: Carly Amato had four goals, an assist and five draw controls to lead East Islip (2-0) in non-league. Anna Kohlhoff added three goals and six draw controls. Addison Ruland scored four goals for Patchogue-Medford (0-2).

Middle Country 7, Center Moriches 6: Madi DiFrietus scored the winning goal with 1:30 remaining in overtime to lead Middle Country (1-1) in non-league. DiFrietus had two goals and Gianna Giambone had three goals and an assist. Sophia Denagelis scored three goals for Center Moriches (0-1).

Port Washington 10, North Shore 8: Maggie Cassidy had four goals and an assist to lead Port Washington (2-1) in Nassau I. Amber Fox added two goals and two assists. Natalie Yoo had four goals and an assist for North Shore (0-2).

South Side 15, Kellenberg 5: Skye Korten had five goals and three assists to lead South Side (1-0) in non-league. Caitlin McNulty had three goals and an assist.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Sachem North 20, Middle Country 0: Alex Chmela returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown and ran for 36 yards and a TD to lead Sachem North (1-1) in Suffolk I. Reagan Groh ran for 51 yards and a TD and added 54 passing yards. Audrina Emma caught two passes for 51 yards and had six sacks. Jaelynn Flores Rojas added two sacks. Jacalyn Zampieron pulled six flags and Ashley Fair had six flag pulls and an interception.

MONDAY’S GAME

Deer Park 18, Glenn 6: Taylor Gabel threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 79 yards to lead Deer Park in a Suffolk II opener. Her sister, Camryn, caught three passes for 136 yards and a TD and added 20 rushing yards. Destinee Williamson caught 12 passes for 104 yards and two scores. Olivia Myrick pulled 10 flags, Kasumi Dennis pulled seven and Melody Cardenas had an interception. Marissa John ran for a 10-yard TD for Glenn (1-2).
