High school roundup: Boys and girls basketball games, plus boys swimming

Colin Kohut’s go-ahead layup with 5.9 seconds remaining gave Mepham a 48-47 victory over Division in non-league boys basketball on Saturday. Rhyan Galarza scored 18 points and Andrew Adams added 13 for Mepham (8-4). Frankie Fasano scored 11 points. Jack Lanyo had a game-high 20 points and Isaiah Faton scored 18 for Division (3-7).
Floyd 64 Bay Shore 62: JJ Smith scored 17 points to lead Floyd (9-1) in Suffolk I. Sharod Sutton Jr. added 15 points and 10 rebounds and Ja’Quan Thomas had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jesse Durham had 15 points. Corey Faines had a game-high 34 points for Bay Shore (8-2).
Brentwood 69, Patchogue-Medford 62: Abraham Donovan led all scorers with 27 points for Brentwood (5-5) in Suffolk I. Isaiah Berrios added 19 points and six assists. Gio Hopwood scored 25 points for Patchogue-Medford (1-9).
Westhampton 62, East Hampton 58: Levi Emerson scored 24 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, to lead Westhampton (8-2) in Suffolk IV. Truman Hahn and Atas Smoriginas each scored 10 points. Toby Foster scored 18 points and Mason Jefferson had 16 for East Hampton (6-5).
Islip 69, Comsewogue 47: Vincent Tyre had 18 points and 18 rebounds to lead Islip (3-7) in Suffolk IV. Chase Herrington had 14 points, five assists and five rebounds and Chase Batkiewicz added 11 points. Matthew Francois led Comsewogue (5-6) with 21 points.
Southampton 72, Shoreham-Wading River 60: Alex Franklin had 27 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists to lead Southampton (6-2) in Suffolk VI. Saevion Ward had 14 of his 23 points in the second quarter. Tyler Lievre had 21 points and Maxwell Boerum had 17 for Shoreham-Wading River (9-2).
FRIDAY’S GAMES
St. Anthony’s 56, Chaminade 55: Kevin More stole an inbounds pass and was fouled with 1:12 remaining in the fourth quarter, where he hit a pair of free throws to give St. Anthony’s (7-4) the lead for good in the CHSAA. Moore finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals. Sean Morrissey had 13 points, 10 rebounds, three assists a steal and two blocks. Lucas Dillon led Chaminade (9-5) with 14 points and his brother, Kyle, added 11.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
East Meadow 58, Farmingdale 44: Kayla Lederer had 22 points and eight steals for East Meadow (7-3) in Nassau I. Emily Zaradich had 10 points and 13 rebounds. Izzy Ariosto scored 17 for Farmingdale (5-4).
Jericho 43, Hewlett 30: Sophie Green had 11 points and 15 rebounds to lead Jericho (10-2) in non-league. Sonia Ngai had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Kayla Owens scored 11 points for Hewlett (2-7).
Westhampton 67, Harborfields 55: Kate Sweet scored 22 points and had eight steals and Sandra Clarke had 21 points and five steals to lead Westhampton (8-2) in Suffolk IV. Maren Korsch led all scorers with 24 points for Harborfields (10-1).
FRIDAY’S GAME
Shoreham-Wading River 49, Bayport-Blue Point 47: Anabel Keegan pulled down an offensive rebound following a missed free throw and converted a putback with 19 seconds left to give Shoreham-Wading River (10-0) the lead in Suffolk VI. Keegan finished with nine points, 15 rebounds and five steals. Leslie Jablonski had 16 points and four steals. Kayla Bongiorno led Bayport-Blue Point (5-5) with 14 points.

Jericho 95, Farmingdale 89: Kyle Kim won the 100-yard breaststroke in a state qualifying time of 1:00.67 to lead Jericho. Tristan Yang set a school record in the six-dive event, scoring 349.58 to break his own mark of 339.50, set in 2024.
