High school roundup: Boys and girls volleyball playoffs

Jack Cain had 18 kills, seven digs and two blocks to lead No. 1 Eastport-South Manor to a 25-21, 25-12, 25-19 victory over No. 4 Westhampton in a Suffolk Division II boys volleyball semifinal on Thursday. Andrew Dragos had 12 kills and 10 digs and Memphis Lanier had 30 assists and eight digs. James Talamini had 10 kills and seven digs. Eastport-South Manor (15-0) will host No. 2 West Islip at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the final. Westhampton finished 10-6.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 3, Port Washington 0: Jayden Axelrod had 14 assists, nine kills and eight digs to lead No. 1 Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK over No. 4 Port Washington, 25-17, 25-18, 25-20, in the Nassau Class AAA semifinals. Addison Dove had 13 kills and two digs and Dylan Katz had 22 assists, six kills, six digs and an ace. Emily Layton had 15 digs, six assists and five aces and Isabella Sallie had 11 kills and five digs. Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK (16-0) will face No. 2 Massapequa at 7 p.m. on Monday at Farmingdale in the final. Julia O’Flanagan had 13 kills and 12 digs for Port Washington (10-6).
Garden City 3, Long Beach 0: Giuliana Pamatat had 25 assists and three aces, Alex Gregory added 12 kills and two aces, and Teresa Gregory added 10 kills and four aces to lead No. 1 Garden City over No. 4 Long Beach, 25-12, 25-18, 25-19, in the semifinals of the Nassau Class AA playoffs. Long Beach finished 7-8-1. Garden City (18-0) will face No. 6 Mepham at 4:30 p.m. on Monday at Farmingdale in the final.
