Coach Lou Petrucci earned his 300th career victory as Ward Melville defeated Sachem North, 9-0, in Suffolk League II baseball on Wednesday. “The players deserve all the attention. I haven’t gotten a hit or an RBI in any of the wins,” Petrucci said. “Only 302 more to catch [former Connetquot coach] Bob Ambrosini.”

Chase Eichner hit a three-run double in the first inning. Ben Hetzel went 4-for-5 with a run scored and Deek Karpowicz went 3-for-4 with a run scored. Nicholas Failla struck out four and allowed five hits in 6 1⁄3 scoreless innings for Ward Melville (6-7).

TUESDAY’S GAME

Garden City 13, Glen Cove 0: Joe Carey struck out 14 and walked none in a no-hitter on 77 pitches to lead Garden City (11-3) in Nassau AA-II. He hit two batters and two runners reached on errors. He threw 67 pitches for strikes. Jack Murphy went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

TUESDAY’S GAMES

Mineola 7, East Meadow 5: Sage Rowan hit a go-ahead RBI double and scored on Julianna Plunkett’s triple in the top of the eighth for Mineola (9-4) in Nassau II. Rowan went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Cassidy Fitzgerald went 4-for-5 with three runs scored. Emma Smith plated Ariana Rosa on a single to tie the score at 5 in the sixth for East Meadow (5-10).

Brentwood 5, Central Islip 4: Jerelin Bello went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Brentwood (2-8) in Suffolk I. Janiyah Torres went 1-for-3 with an RBI and struck out seven and allowed three earned runs in seven innings. Lianna Mills went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for Central Islip (4-8).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Jericho 14, Clarke 13: Avery Danzig had six goals and an assist and scored the winning goal with 45 seconds left in overtime to lead Jericho (10-2) in Nassau IV. Jane Han added three goals and four assists. Alya Abate had five goals and three assists for Clarke (7-4).

Massapequa 17, Oceanside 6: Rocco Spallina had six goals and two assists to lead Massapequa (10-2) in non-league. Spallina, a junior, now holds the all-time Massapequa goals record with 127. Ian Kirby (122) previously held the record.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Sayville 16, Shoreham-Wading River 14: Aniela Marino rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries and completed 9 of 17 passes for 145 yards to lead Sayville (5-4) in Suffolk II. Marino and Alexa Yacono each had an interception. Ella Trama had a sack for a safety. Shealyn Varbero ran for 135 yards and a TD and threw a TD pass to Mia Mangano for Shoreham-Wading River (4-3).
