Tyrese Emmanuel totaled 27 points, four rebounds, eight assists and three steals to lead No. 8 Wyandanch past No. 9 Bayport-Blue Point, 86-55, in the first round of the Suffolk Class A boys basketball playoffs at Wyandanch on Wednesday night. Wyandanch (10-10) will visit No. 1 Mount Sinai in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. next Wednesday. Chris Gorwitz scored 24 points for BBP, which finished 11-10.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

West Babylon 42, Half Hollow Hills West 36: Jaelynn Burgess made two free throws with 2:25 left in the fourth quarter to give No. 7 West Babylon the lead for good over No. 10 Half Hollow Hills West in the first round of the Suffolk AA playoffs. Burgess had 21 points. West Babylon (13-8) will visit No. 2 Westhampton in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. next Wednesday. Amaya Burke scored 14 points for Hills West, which finished 13-8.

BOYS BOWLING

TUESDAY’S MATCH

Chaminade’s Sebastian LoGuidice fired a 670 series to win the boys CHSAA individual championship in Mineola. Avery Ling of Kellenberg led all male bowlers with a 224 high game.

GIRLS BOWLING

TUESDAY’S MATCH

Kerri Callahan of Kellenberg rolled a 502 series to win the CHSAA girls bowling championship in Mineola. It was Callahan’s fourth consecutive individual league title. Mia Santiago of St. John the Baptist placed second with a 489 series. Santiago led all girls bowlers with a 199 high game.
