Shane Bauser scored the winning goal with half a second remaining in the first overtime period to give host Sayville a 2-1 win over Kings Park in a Suffolk League V boys soccer match in West Sayville on Thursday night. Matt McCormack scored the tying goal off an assist from Max Deedy in the first half for Sayville (3-7-1). Jhony Moreira scored and Mickey O’Shea made seven saves for Kings Park (5-4).
Lindenhurst 3, Ward Melville 0: Gianni Lombardo scored two goals and Tommy Andreone added another to lead Lindenhurst (4-5) over Ward Melville (6-4) in Suffolk II. Daniel Zylowwski made six saves to hold the clean sheet.
Plainedge 3, Seaford 2: Dominick Gulino, Conor Sinclair and Patrick Svraka each scored a goal for Plainedge (6-1-3) in a Nassau A win. Bryan Portnoy and Aiden Rodriguez both scored for Seaford (3-7-1).
South Side 2, Glen Cove 0: Brandon Curtis and Quinari Mesquita each scored a goal to lead South Side (8-0-4) past Glen Cove (8-2-1) in Nassau AA-III.
St. Dominic 1, Holy Trinity 0: Antonio Iona scored the game’s only goal off an assist from Will Hassett in the 61st minute to lead St. Dominic (3-1) in the NSCHSAA. Jason Mostransky saved 14 shots to keep a clean sheet. Cosme Reyes made 12 saves for Holy Trinity (0-4).
GIRLS SOCCER
Mineola 7, Lawrence 1: Cassidy Fitzgerald and Sophia Prudenti each scored two goals to lead Mineola (8-1-2) past Lawrence (0-5) in Nassau A/B-III.
Locust Valley 3, Friends Academy 1: Maddie Farren, Melanie Smith and Natalie Smith each scored a goal for Locust Valley (6-3-1) in a non-league win. Sienna Mannarino made 12 saves in the victory. Dahlia Diaz scored for Friends Academy (2-6).
Kings Park 2, Southampton 0: Autumn Weippert and Sammi Eisele each scored a goal and Taylor Valdes saved nine shots to lead Kings Park (2-5-2) past Southampton (1-8-1) in Suffolk III.
Connetquot 1, Sachem North 0: Maddie Boss scored her third winning goal of the season, this one off a touch pass from Riley Wagner in the 64th minute, to lead Connetquot (10-0-1) in Suffolk I. Addisyn Gentile, who totaled eight saves, made a diving stop in the 75th minute to preserve her sixth shutout of the season. Gabby Palagi saved seven shots for Sachem North (3-5).
Half Hollow Hills West 5, Westhampton 0: Ella Candel had two goals and one assist and Emelie Asenjo added a goal and an assist to lead Half Hollow Hills West (6-3-2) past Westhampton (1-8-1) in Suffolk II.
FIELD HOCKEY
East Islip 1, Bayport-Blue Point 0: Kiersten Klein scored off a pass from Theresa Codispoti with 1:10 remaining in the fourth quarter, giving East Islip (7-4) the lead for good in Suffolk II action. Brooke McCally made one save to preserve the shutout. Victoria Madden saved eight shots for Bayport-Blue Point (8-2).
Comsewogue 3, Shoreham-Wading River 0: Lilly Arnone scored two goals and Evie Arnone handed out two assists to lead Comsewogue (7-3) in Suffolk II. Isla Hannifin knocked home a rebound for her first goal of the season and Keira Walling posted a shutout with five saves. Sophia Giangreco made 16 saves for Shoreham-Wading River (5-5).
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Lawrence 3, Valley Stream North 0: Corey Shakur racked up 26 kills and six aces to lead Lawrence (4-5) past Valley Stream North (2-5) in three sets, 25-20, 25-20, 25-22, in Nassau III-B. Jakob Dominguez added 31 assists and four aces.
Connetquot 3, Sachem North 0: Ryan Sguigna picked up 17 kills and Tyler Cope added 13 more to lead Connetquot (8-1) past Sachem North (10-2) in three sets, 25-21, 25-22, 26-24, in Suffolk I. Connor Gibbons contributed seven kills and three blocks.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Sachem East 3, Connetquot 2: Bridget Hansen posted a triple-double with 16 kills, 22 assists and 20 digs, and also added four blocks, to lead Sachem East (9-1) in five sets, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 20-25, 15-11, in Suffolk II play. Avery Thurston contributed 11 kills and two blocks. Bailey Kueck totaled 12 kills. Hailey Edler added two kills, three blocks and four aces. Nadia Trzaskalski picked up 15 kills and two aces, and her older sister, Gisele, totaled eight kills, 20 assists and three aces for Connetquot (9-2).
Bay Shore 3, Riverhead 0: Kerrin Butler dished out 30 assists, and both Haven Mills and Shannon Smith logged 10 kills apiece to help lead Bay Shore (10-0) past Riverhead (2-7) in three sets, 25-16, 25-15, 25-17, in Suffolk I. Molly Larkin added eight digs and five aces.
BOYS GOLF
Sachem 8, Bellport 1: Lee Kaiser Jr. and Cole Rosensweig each shot a 3-under-par 32 on the front nine of Bellport Country Club to lead Sachem (8-0) past Bellport (3-4) in Suffolk I. Jake Santulli shot a 1-under 34 and Ryan Lamm shot an even-par 35.
