Stephen Castellano scored the winning goal in overtime off an assist from Brody Mauro to lead Sachem North to a 15-14 win over Lindenhurst in Suffolk I boys lacrosse on Tuesday. Castellano had five goals and an assist.
Gavin Nuzzi had four goals and an assist, helping Sachem North (8-1) erase an 8-2 halftime deficit. Luke LaRocca and Henry Sarro had two goals apiece. John Calabria had a goal and four assists. Lucas Bouchard had a goal and an assist.
Caiden Alazraki had four goals for Lindenhurst (6-3). Hunter DeRonde and Pat Sarnicola each had three goals, with Sarnicola adding five assists. Delvani Valdivia won 19 faceoffs.
MONDAY’S GAMES
Glenn 23, Bellport 15: Casey Goralski had 10 goals, five assists and eight ground balls to lead Glenn (2-5) in Suffolk II. Grayden Aebisher had four goals, four assists and six ground balls. Griffin Aebisher had three goals and four assists. Anders Johnsen had eight goals and three assists and Bradyon Cipp had six goals and three assists for Bellport (1-6).
Comsewogue 14, Mt. Sinai 10: Luca Lattanzio scored seven goals to lead Comsewogue (6-2) in Suffolk II. Gianni Marino added two goals and four assists. Dylan O’Conner made 13 saves. David Darling had four goals for the Mustangs (5-3).
GIRLS LACROSSE
Smithtown West 9, Islip 8: Ashley Mennella scored the winning goal with 10 seconds left in overtime to lead Smithtown West (6-1) in Suffolk II. Molly Hyland scored three goals. Alyssa Lorefice had a goal and three assists. Tessa Smith scored four goals for Islip (4-4).
MONDAY’S GAMES
Carle Place 15, MacArthur 14: Madison Reedy had six goals and three assists to lead Carle Place (4-4) in Nassau II. Her sister, Tyler had five goals and three assists. Ava Gomes had two goals and three assists. Danielle Kupcs and Eve Larkin each had five goals and an assist for MacArthur (5-6).
BASEBALL
Bethpage 3, Mepham 0: Will Lynn struck out 13 in a two-hit shutout and hit a solo home run to lead Bethpage (6-4) in Nassau AA-III. Jake McCaffrey and Zack Kontorinis each added a solo homer.
Valley Stream South 3, Oyster Bay 1: Peter Greif struck out seven and allowed one earned run in a complete game to lead Valley Stream South (8-4) in Nassau B. He also went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored and a stolen base. Chase Lordi had three hits and a home run for Oyster Bay (4-3).
Baldwin 7, Uniondale 0: Dayzien Dezargas struck out 11 in a complete game shutout to lead Baldwin (5-4) in Nassau AAA-II. Jacob Lopez went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs.
MONDAY’S GAMES
Longwood 3, Whitman 0: Brendan Rivera struck out five and walked one in a no-hitter on 83 pitches to lead Longwood (10-0) in Suffolk I. Rivera, Tyler Groblewski and Ryan Greene each had two hits.
Copiague 2, North Babylon 1: Jaryel Torres drove in Roger Rowe with a walk-off sacrifice fly in the seventh inning for Copiague (5-4) in Suffolk III. Jake Vargas struck out four and allowed one run and three hits in six innings and Steve Falco pitched a scoreless seventh to earn the win.
SOFTBALL
Syosset 5, Seaford 4: Kate Leogas went 1-for-3 with an RBI and struck out seven in a complete game to lead Syosset (6-5) in Nassau I. Gianna Garzilli went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
MONDAY’S GAMES
Port Washington 16, Island Trees 10: Abby Trenaman hit a three-run triple in an eight-run sixth inning to lead Port Washington (5-5) in Nassau III. Sophia Gebbie went 4-for-4 with an RBI and four runs scored and earned the win in relief. Olivia Kostka went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. Jaclyn Donahue hit a home run for Island Trees (3-6).
North Shore 10, Baldwin 9: Elsa Lane went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored to lead North Shore (3-6) in Nassau IV. Lauren Uribe went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Lucia Minsky went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI and struck out 12 batters in five innings.
Ward Melville 7, Comsewogue/Port Jefferson 1: Julianna Russ struck out 11 in a complete game and hit a two-run home run to lead Ward Melville (8-2) in Suffolk II. Kaitlyn Morales went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Cate Scolaro went 2-for-3.

MONDAY’S GAME
West Islip 13, Sayville 7: Meghan Farrell scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown with 33 seconds remaining to lead West Islip (6-1) in Suffolk II. She completed 13 of 19 passes for 105 yards and added 18 carries for 60 yards and two TDs. Julianna Locrotondo had eight flag pulls and two sacks. Madelynn Rush added five flag pulls with three sacks. Farrell and Kate Swallow each made an interception.
