High school roundup: Softball, baseball and boys and girls lacrosse

Madison Vargas drove in Veronica Schag with a two-out, walk-off single in the ninth inning to give Longwood a 3-2 win over Half Hollow Hills in Suffolk I softball on Thursday.
Schag went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Riley Liere went 3-for-4 with two runs as the Lions clinched a playoff spot. Amanda Vaccaro struck out 10 and allowed two runs in a complete game for Longwood (10-7). Alexa Ferguson went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run for Half Hollow Hills (9-7).
Miller Place 3, Rocky Point 2: Delaney Schleider had three hits and hit a two-run, go-ahead homer in the fourth inning for Miller Place (14-3) in Suffolk V. Brooke Borkowski hit a double and drove in a run and Breya Kesler had two hits. Taylor Aschettino had two hits and an RBI for Rocky Point (12-6).
Bethpage 8, Mineola 2: Rylee Petruskie allowed three hits and struck out 13 to lead Bethpage (11-6) in Nassau II. Isabella Lomangino had a three-run triple in the bottom of the first. Autumn Malone had nine strikeouts for Mineola (11-6).
East Meadow 8, MacArthur 7: Ariana Rosa hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning for East Meadow (7-12) in non-league. Grace Moone tossed a complete game, striking out two. Allie Barnwell went 3-for-4. MacArthur fell to 8-10.
BASEBALL
Syosset 7, East Meadow 6: Mason Wei had a walk-off RBI in the bottom of the eighth inning and pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out two for Syosset (5-10-1) in Nassau AAA-I. Matt Mianulli went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Dylan Santucci went 3-for-4 with two runs. Luca Eliane went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. East Meadow fell to 6-11.
Center Moriches 8, Shoreham-Wading River 6: Alex Foster tossed five innings for Center Moriches (13-3) in Suffolk VII. Jack Passaro pitched two innings of relief. JT Bonventre went 3-for-4 with two doubles and drove in two runs. Nico Libretti went 3-for-4 with a double. Shoreham-Wading River is 12-5.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Garden City 16, South Side 11: Michaela Molgano had six goals and two assists to lead Garden City (14-2) in Nassau I. Averie Smith had four goals and two assists. Kim Colucci had two goals and two assists. Juliet Diorio scored four goals for South Side (9-7).
Half Hollow Hills 14, Lindenhurst 11: Addie Corry had four goals and four assists to lead Half Hollow Hills (8-6) in Suffolk I. Kayla Grochow scored three goals. Emma Burmeister had four goals and two assists for Lindenhurst (6-8).
BOYS LACROSSE
Wantagh 16, Seaford 11: Devin Paccione had a goal and nine assists for Wantagh (11-3) in a Nassau I-A/I-B crossover game. Luke Martini had six goals and an assist. Sean Stachlik scored three goals and Joe Nicholson had two. Gianni Passaro made 10 saves. Logan DiFondi had three goals and three assists for Seaford (6-7).
Great Neck South 8, Uniondale 3: Alex Menzies scored four goals to lead Great Neck South (7-6) in Nassau IV. Ben Halpern and Jaxon Bier both had two goals. Ritvik Dutta made seven saves. Cristian Ganuza made 16 saves for Uniondale (4-8-1).
Miller Place 13, Rocky Point 7: Sean Brennan had four goals and two assists to lead Miller Place (8-6) in Suffolk II. Joey Poerio scored one goal and collected four assists. Peyton Reisinger had three goals and one assist for Rocky Point (5-8).
