High school roundup: Boys and girls basketball, bowling and boys fencing

Devin Saxon scored 19 points, leading Smithtown East boys basketball to a 75-68 win in triple overtime over St. John the Baptist Thursday night in non-league. JJ Polanco added 15 points for Smithtown East (3-1), which outscored St. John the Baptist 8-1 in the third extra session.

Tony Etkins scored 25 points and Justus Gales added 22 points for St. John the Baptist (3-2).

East Islip 51, Northport 46: Owen Madden broke a tie with a three-pointer with 1:15 remaining to lead East Islip (2-3) in Suffolk III. Madden later hit two free throws to make it a two-possession game and finished with 11 points. Tim Coakley led all scorers with 20 points. Shamus Burke led Northport (2-3) with 17 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

West Babylon 47, Smithtown West 44: Ava Dockery scored 18 points and Jaelynn Burgess added 15 for West Babylon (4-2) in Suffolk III. Catherine Piccininni had a game-high 20 points for Smithtown West (4-1).

BOYS BOWLING

East Islip 23, Islip 13: Brenden Muller rolled a 726 series and a 288 high game for East Islip (7-0) in Suffolk I. Greggory Stephens added a 675 series, followed by Lucas Lawlor with 618 and Lucas Brelsford with 604. Anthony Bullero shot a team-best 730 series for Islip (7-1).

Eastport-South Manor 32, Sayville 4: Logan Silbert rolled a 689 series with a 255 high game for Eastport-South Manor (4-1) in Suffolk II.

GIRLS BOWLING

East Islip 36, Islip 4: Brooke Andresen rolled a 720 series for East Islip (5-0) in Suffolk II. Meeya Leaderman added personal bests with a high game of 257 in a 664 series. Tatum Palmer fired a 710 series for Islip (3-3).

BOYS FENCING

Half Hollow Hills 16, Say/BBP/Con 11: Epeeists Daniel Lin, Jerry Lin and Daniel Yang all went 3-0 in their epee bouts for Half Hollow Hills (6-0) in non-league.
