Gianna Ventura drove in Julia Parise with a two-out double in the top of the ninth for East Meadow in its 1-0 win over Oceanside in Nassau Conference I softball on Monday. Parise struck out four and allowed four hits a complete game for East Meadow (2-5).

Herricks 6, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 4: Madison Nell struck out seven in a complete game for Herricks (4-6) in Nassau II. Nell added a double, Avery Stuart went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Ava Nissen went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Connetquot 5, Northport 4: Natalie Ramirez doubled homer Olivia Micheli for the winning run in the top of the ninth for Connetquot (5-4) in Suffolk II. Lyla Camacho struck out 10 and walked two in a complete game.

Newfield 10, Bay Shore 8: Teresa Cotty went 4-for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs, including a go-ahead two-run double in the top of the seventh for Newfield (2-4) in Suffolk II. Sarah Murphy went 4-for-5 and Riley Firenze and Alexis Byrnes each went 3-for-5.

Calhoun 7, Bellmore JFK 5: Gia Pisicchio had two home runs and three RBIs to help Calhoun (6-2) overcome a four-run deficit in Nassau I. Izzy Pagano and Ashleigh Coyne each had an RBI and Gianna Lucchi had a double and a single.

BASEBALL

Wheatley 9, Friends Academy 1: Connor Quinn struck out 13 and allowed four hits in six innings for Wheatley (6-1) in Nassau B. Andrew Asaro went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Danny Gillette went 1-for-2 with three RBIs.

Carle Place 15, West Hempstead 5: Patrick McCarthy went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and struck out six and allowed one earned run in a five-inning complete game win for Carle Place (5-4) in Nassau B. Vincent Natalie went 1-for-4 with three runs and Niko Rodriguez went 1-for-2 with three runs and an RBI.

Carey 10, New Hyde Park 0: Justin Babiak struck out eight in a one-hitter for Carey (7-1) in Nassau AA-II. Mark Vera went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Joe Spano went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs.

SATURDAY

Half Hollow Hills West 5, Lindenhurst 2: Ethan Saintjean went 2-for-5 and hit a two-run double in the ninth inning for Half Hollow Hills West (3-4) in non-league. Artie Green struck out five in two no-hit innings of relief to earn the win. Ryan Szypula struck out nine and allowed two unearned runs in seven innings.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Carey 10, Island Trees 4: Leila Paz had three goals and two assists, Katie Zitarosa added two goals and two assists and Kate McGrath scored a goal and won 16 of 18 draw controls for Carey (5-2) in Nassau IV. Kaylin De Jesus made 10 saves.

South Side 11, Manhasset 10: Charlotte Rathjen had three goals and two assists and Caitlin Haggerty had three goals and an assist for South Side (4-2) in Nassau I.

Bethpage 9, MacArthur 7: Sam Cossaro had four goals, an assist and won two draw controls for Bethpage (6-3) in Nassau II. Grace Miller scored three goals and won three draw controls. Emily Caputo made eight saves, including her 200th career save for Bethpage, according to coach Kaitlin Murphy.

BOYS LACROSSE

Islip 15, Bellport 2: Jack Rao had two goals and three assists for Islip (4-2) in Suffolk II. Jake DeGennaro added three goals and one assist.

SATURDAY’S GAMES

Island Trees 10, Wheatley/Carle Place 4: JC Echezuria had three goals and two assists for Island Trees (3-2) in Nassau C/D. Joe Filocamo had a goal and three assists.

Half Hollow Hills 9, Smithtown East 4: Sal Santoro made 18 saves for Half Hollow Hills (8-0) in Suffolk I. James Bruno scored four goals, Anthony Raio added two goals and four assists and Zach Marco had two goals and an assist. Nico Ghicas won 13 faceoffs and had 10 ground balls.

Smithtown West 11, Port Washington 6: John Savino had six goals and one assist for Smithtown West (8-1) in non-league. Necco Cottage went 18-for-20 on faceoffs.

Floyd 14, Smithtown 12: Victoria Nelson passed for 198 yards and two touchdowns for Floyd (3-2) in Suffolk I. Alynah Ramos had five flag pulls and the clinching interception late in the second half. Mariela Garcia added five flag pulls and a safety. Milania Farrow had four receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. Mya Bulger had 10 flag pulls.

Valley Stream District 15, Freeport 0: Alyssa Santiago rushed for a 73-yard touchdown run for Valley Stream District (5-2) in Nassau I. Gabriella Rivera caught a 15-yard TD pass from Alyssa Santiago. Gabby Loadholt had nine flag pulls and two pass deflections, and Jazlene Narvaez had an interception.
