George Londos defeated Nikita Vannes, 6-0, 6-0, at first singles to lead No. 1 Chaminade to a 7-0 victory over No. 2 St. Anthony’s in the CHSAA boys tennis final on Monday.
Luke Hynes defeated Bradley Frachter, 6-1, 6-1, at second singles and Max Cupsa defeated Jordan Gonzales, 2-6, 6-2, 10-6, at third singles.
BASEBALL
Division 11, Long Beach 1: Matt Bolton sparked a 10-run fifth inning with a two-run double and finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored as No. 6 Division defeated No. 5 Long Beach in Game 2 of the Nassau Class AA semifinals. Christian Varela tossed a five-hitter. Long Beach finished 17-7-1.
Division (19-5) advances to play the winner of Bellmore JFK/Carey in the Nassau Class AA final with Game 1 at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Farmingdale State College.
Carey 9, Bellmore JFK 3: Matteo Tufano went 4-for-4 with two RBIs to lead No. 9 Carey over No. 2 Bellmore JFK in the Game 2. Carey (18-8) will travel to Bellmore JFK (19-3-2) for a decisive Game 3 on Wednesday.
Farmingdale 16, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 6: Dean Pasolini had a three-run home run as part of an eight-run second inning as No. 3 Farmingdale defeated No. 2 Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK in Game 2 of the Nassau Class AAA semifinals. Jordan Welch had a grand slam.
Farmingdale (16-7-1) plays at No. 2 Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK (17-7) in a decisive Game 3 on Wednesday.
Port Washington 4, Massapequa 1: Hunter Trenaman tossed a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and allowed one run to lead No. 4 Port Washington over No. 1 Massapequa in Game 2.
Port Washington (14-9-1) plays at No. 1 Massapequa (19-4-1) in a winner-take-all Game 3 on Wednesday.
Plainedge 2, Wantagh 0: Taylor Nitsch tossed a six-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts to lead No. 2 Plainedge over No. 1 Wantagh in Game 3 of the Nassau Class A semifinals.
Plainedge (17-8) plays a decisive Game 3 at Wantagh (19-3-2) on Wednesday.
SUNDAY’S GAMES
Hauppauge 5, Comsewogue 4: Michael Oliveto hit a walk-off, two-run home run in the eighth inning to send No. 1 Hauppauge past No. 7 Comsewogue and into the Suffolk Class AA championship.
Hauppauge (19-3) plays No. 7 Comsewogue (14-9) at noon on Saturday at Middle Country Athletic Complex.
Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 2, Farmingdale 0: Michael D’Ambrosio tossed a two-hitter and hit a home run to propel No. 2 Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK past No. 3 Farmingdale in Game 1 of the Nassau Class AAA semifinals.
SOFTBALL
Sachem East 6, Riverhead 0: Olivia DeRose tossed a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and four walks as No. 3 Sachem East defeated No. 1 Riverhead (20-1) in the Suffolk Class AAA winner’s bracket final. Gianna Monte hit a solo home run in the third inning for the game’s first run.
Sachem East (18-4) will face the winner of Riverhead/North Babylon in the final at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Martha Ave Complex.
SUNDAY’S GAME
Bayport-Blue Point 6, Kings Park 0: Alyna Dolan pitched a perfect game with three strikeouts to lead No. 1 Bayport-Blue Point over No. 6 Kings Park (12-11) in a Suffolk Class A elimination game.
Bayport-Blue Point (20-2) will host No. 2 Islip in an elimination game at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
