Top-seeded Nolan Gelman of Half Hollow Hills West beat second-seeded Scott Johnson of Kings Park, 6-1, 6-0, in the final match of the Suffolk Division I Individual tennis championships at Sachem East Wednesday.

In the consolation match, fourth-seeded Brandon Stone of Whitman beat No. 3 Zane Ali (Hills East) 2-6, 7-5, 10-8. In the doubles final, No. 6 Chris Hunter and Eric Bertuglia (Hills East) beat No. 1 Michael Covey and Scott Rabinowitz (Hills West) 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4). Fifth-seeded Sam Gudeon and Matt Basile (Smithtown West) beat No. 7 Eric Chalis and Brian Chalis (Harborfields) 6-1, 6-4, in the consolation.


St. Dominic 5, St. Anthony's 4: Derek Hirsch doubled in Brandon Stahl in the top of the seventh to give St. Dominic (8-6) a 5-3 lead in CHSAA. Spencer Bilello went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Robert Galligan struck out five in five innings to get the win.

Mineola 14, Manhasset 7: John Caputo hit a two-run home run in a six-run first inning and struck out six in five innings to lead Mineola (12-6), which clinched a share of the Nassau Conference A-II title. Ryan Jenkins went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Anthony Fabrico went 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs. girls BADMINTON
