Newfield boys soccer's Dave Gaona nets winner in double overtime to get past Sachem North

Dave Gaona scored the winning goal with 3:14 left in double overtime off an assist from Jason Krol to lead Newfield to a 2-1 victory over Sachem North in Suffolk I on Friday. Krol tied the score off a header from a corner kick by Eli Rubio. John Caso made three saves for Newfield. Jacob Steffens scored and Jon Caso made three saves for Sachem North.
Rocky Point 2, Hampton Bays 1: Brent Lane and Aiden Mason each scored a goal to lead Rocky Point (2-0) in Suffolk III. Aidan Todaro made three saves. Maciej Lutrzykowski scored and Nick Osorio made eight saves for Hampton Bays.
Whitman 1, Floyd 0: Otoniel Umana scored the only goal of the game and Jayden Castro made six saves to lead Whitman (1-1) in Suffolk I. Kevin Ramos and Myles Von Brook each made two saves for Floyd (1-1).
Miller Place 7, Wyandanch 0: Pablo Rubio scored four goals and added one assist to lead Miller Place in Suffolk III. Chris Trejo made seven saves for Wyandanch.
East Meadow 1, Farmingdale 0: Colin Smith scored off an assist from Matthew O’Leary with 10 minutes left in the game to lead East Meadow (2-0) in Nassau AAA. Jonathan Buonomo made six saves for Farmingdale.
Locust Valley 1, Glen Cove 1: Jayden Detres scored in the 60th minute on an assist from Lucas Mejia for Locust Valley (1-0-1). Miguel Rivera tied the score for Glen Cove (1-1-1) with eight minutes left on an assist from Hector Santiago in non-league.

Glen Cove 3, Great Neck South 1: Mia Massone scored the go-ahead goal with 15 minutes left to lead Glen Cove (1-1) in Nassau IV. Lily O’Connor added a goal to make it 3-1.
Mepham 1, Long Beach 0: Gabriella Caminiti scored and Lia DiPreta made eight saves to lead Mepham (2-1) in Nassau II. Vanessa Leddy made seven saves for Long Beach (1-1).
Babylon 4, Hauppauge 0: Lily Krollage had two goals and an assist, and Gianna Durler made 12 saves to lead Babylon (1-0-1) in non-league. Taylor Mileti made three saves for Hauppauge.
