Ryan Filippi had nine goals and two assists to lead Port Jefferson over Bellport, 15-10, in Suffolk II boys lacrosse on Wednesday. Filippi also had a team-high five ground balls. Patrick Johnston had one goal and six assists. Owen Whiffen made 14 saves for Port Jefferson (3-5). Tatum Cipp, Braydon Cipp and Connor Murphy each had three goals for Bellport (1-8).

Glenn 7, Islip 6: Matt Triolo scored three goals and had one assist to lead Glenn (5-3) in Suffolk II. Ethan Levy had 13 saves. Casey Goralski scored two goals. Dillion Goralski and Ryan Taylor each contributed by scoring a goal a piece.

TUESDAY’S GAMES

South Fork 13, Lindenhurst 11: Luca Lattanzio had five goals and an assist and his brother, Isaiah, added three goals and an assist to lead South Fork (6-2) in Suffolk I. Charlie Corwin had two goals and an assist. Hunter De Ronde scored four goals for Lindenhurst (2-7).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Middle Country 10, Riverhead 9: Ava Benasutti scored the winning goal with 7:09 left in the fourth quarter to break a tie at 9 for Middle Country (4-4) in Suffolk I. Ella Hirsch scored the tying goal off an assist from Maddie DiFrietus earlier in the fourth quarter. Benasutti and Hirsch each scored three goals.

Floyd 16, Huntington 7: Ava Tiedemann had six goals and an assist and Kayla Gilmore had five goals and two assists for Floyd (7-1) in Suffolk I.

West Hempstead 9, Jericho 4: Elizabeth Poirot had seven goals and six draw controls for West Hempstead (4-3-1) in Nassau IV. Madison Cates made nine saves. Ivana Jiminez had five draw controls and a goal. Miley Yakvel had two goals for Jericho (4-6).

TUESDAY’S GAMES

Center Moriches 15, Bellport 11: Taylor Metzler scored six goals and added one assist for Center Moriches (5-4) in Suffolk II. Payton Noack had four goals and an assist. Riley Schildt made nine saves. Makayla Walsh added two goals and an assist. Cassidy Hanley had three goals and an assist for Bellport (6-3). Andie Pedatella scored four goals.

Smithtown West 5, Eastport-South Manor 4: Jolie Schiavo scored the go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter to lead Smithtown West (5-3) in Suffolk II. Schiavo finished with two goals and four draw controls and Maribella Marciano made eight saves. Alyssa Lorefice had a goal and an assist. Ashley Langdon made 13 saves for Eastport-South Manor (3-5).

SOFTBALL

Comsewogue 8, Bellport 1: Freshman Peyton Chiaino went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs for Comsewogue (5-5) in non-league. Laurel Chiaino, a senior, went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Jules Manteiga added a double. Emma Short pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts. Bridget Barry had four strikeouts across six innings for Bellport (4-7).

East Hampton 10, Westhampton 7: Katie Kuneth pitched seven innings, striking out nine batters for East Hampton (2-7) in Suffolk V. Kuneth went 2-for-4 with two runs. Katie Burke had a home run for Westhampton (7-3). Rosalie Judd had five strikeouts.

Holy Trinity 10, St. John the Baptist 0: Tia DePalo allowed just one hit while striking out 11 across six scoreless innings for Holy Trinity (3-2) in the CHSAA. Connie Stein went 3-for-3 with a double and Jaeda Bartfield went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Nicole Sinnona, Emma Brussell and Bella Thumhart each went 2-for-4. Sinnona had two runs and Brussell had a double and three RBIs.

TUESDAY’S GAMES

Hicksville 10, New Hyde Park 1: Samantha Leung struck out seven in a no-hitter for Hicksville (6-2) in non-league. Heather Mane made two shoestring catches in rightfield to preserve the no-hitter. Mane went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs. Katie Sullivan added two hits and three RBIs.

BASEBALL

Islip 10, Hampton Bays 3: Alex Rahner allowed no earned and struck out eight batters across four innings to earn the win for Islip (5-6) in Suffolk VI. Ryan Kelly pitched three innings with two strikeouts to earn the save. 

Lindenhurst 3, Sachem North 1: Matt Curto pitched 5 2⁄3 scoreless innings and struck out five for Lindenhurst (4-5) in Suffolk II. Mike DiGiuseppe picked up the win in relief. Lindenhurst scored three runs in the sixth inning on no hits to take the lead. 

Deer Park 5, Miller Place 2: Brian Ugalde struck out nine across six innings, allowing four hits to earn the win for Deer Park (6-5) in non-league. Chris Mazzola went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Nick LaBella went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

GIRLS TRACK

Bellport 79, Smithtown West 70: Ava Cooley won the 100 meters and 200 and Stephanie Rodas won the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles for Bellport (3-0) in Suffolk IV.
