CHRIS WALLACE
Player of the Year

St. Anthony’s, F, Sr.
Not even time could slow down Chris Wallace this season.
The St. Anthony’s forward beat the clock in the state CHSAA championship game, scoring the winning goal with one second left that gave the Friars their first state title.
Wallace led St. Anthony’s to a 21-0 record with a team-high 30 goals. He was second on the team with 45 points and was at his best in the postseason.
The winner in the state championship game completed a hat trick that night, and his seven goals in a two-game sweep of St. Joseph Sea in the CHSHL championship made up 63-percent of the team’s offense in the series. “I’ve been with this program since 1984 and I think played better this season than anyone that I’ve seen before,” coach Jeff Stelmok said. Wallace plays for the New York Bobcats Junior-A hockey team, a top junior team on Long Island, and hopes to move on to a higher profile junior league next season before trying to play college hockey.
“It’s been incredible,” Wallace said of his time at St. Anthony’s. “It’s been a pleasure to play for all the coaches and it’s been a lot of fun.”

COREY HOFFMAN
Syosset, F, So.
Only a sophomore, Hoffman scored a record-breaking 101 points in 18 games, becoming the first player in the Nassau to ever score 100 points in a season. Hoffman had 46 goals, tied for the league-lead with Garden City’s Albert Markopoulos, and a league-best 55 assists to lead Syosset to an appearance in the Michelino Championship Series.

BRETT KAISER
Kings Park-Commack, F, Sr.
Kaiser was second in Suffolk with 42 points. He led Kings Park-Commack on a six-game winning streak to close out the season, with 18 points in that stretch, to secure the team the third seed in the Suffolk playoffs. Kaiser helped KPC reach the SCHSHL semifinals and scored four points in the team’s two playoff games.

JIMM MAZZA
St. Anthony’s, D, Sr.
While his offensive numbers were down this season, Mazza quarterbacked St. Anthony’s powerplay and was always on the ice to shut down the opponent’s top scorers. He led a Friars’ defense playing in front of alternating goaltenders that allowed just 22 goals in 16 regular season games, the best mark in the CHSHL.

HARRIS PITTINSKY
Long Beach, G, Sr.
The Long Beach veteran netminder led the Marines to their second straight state championship and was named the MVP of the state AAU Small School Tournament. Pittinsky led Long Beach to a 5-0 win in the state title game over Cleve Hill-JFK, and finished the regular season with the second-best goals against average in Nassau — 2.53, behind East Williston’s Graham Turk’s 2.00.
