Bizzaro out of hospital
Joseph Bizzaro, the Connetquot-Sayville forward whowas severely injured in Monday's game against Smithtown, was released from Stony Brook University Medical Center on Wednesday, after undergoing surgery to repair tendons on his injured hand on Monday.
He is expected to miss the remainder of the season, according to coach Bruce Kollmar.
"Everybody saw the amount of blood that was spilled . . . the kids were rather stunned," Kollmar said, recalling the night of the injury. "We were quiet [on the bench], but my responsibility in that position was to tell the kids that they have good [medical staff] here who can make sure [Bizzaro] is healthy, and our job is to make sure that we get through the rest of this game and win this for him." Which they did.
