Jon Cheadle's 299 leads East Islip past Bellport
Senior Jon Cheadle rolled a career-best 299 in Game 2 and a 279 in Game 3 of a 785 series, leading East Islip over Bellport, 1,157-802, 1,160-736, 1,292-797, Monday in Suffolk League II boys bowling.
"He had been struggling in our first couple of matches, so to see him regain his form was great," Redmen coach Bob Cheadle said of Jon, who is his son. "Watching him bowl this well was a special feeling."
Jon Kavanaugh rolled a 288 in Game 3 of a 769 series. Mike Orobello substituted in for Game 3 and had a 265.
"We have two new starters in Kavanaugh and eighth-grader Justin Orobello who have been tremendous," said Cheadle, whose team took second in the state tournament last season.
Central Islip 3, Connetquot 0: Joe Musumeci bowled a 258 in Game 3 of a 713 series and Jon Softy had a 630 series for Central Islip (3-2) in a 1,000-978, 1,093-988, 1,030-877 win in League II. Farmingdale 2, Syosset 1: Steve Hamlin rolled a 252 in Game 2 of a 650 series to lead Farmingdale (1-4) to an 843-792, 687-793, 845-712 victory over Syosset in Conference III. Matt Ciullo shot a 223 in Game 1 of a 619 series and Michael Coakley had a 244 in Game 3 for the Dalers.

Our Savior New American 71, Riverdale Baptist (Md.) 64: Cheick Diallo had 20 points, nine rebounds and four blocks to lead Our Savior (6-0) in the National High School Hoopfest in Washington, D.C. Kobie Eubanks added 17 points.

Our Lady of Mercy 54, Ward Melville 48: Sophomore Kelly Wildes scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half and added nine rebounds to lead Our Lady of Mercy (3-1) in non-league. Shannon Brady added nine points and Lizzie Stiles had six points, four assists and three steals.
Westhampton 38, Southampton 31: Lauren Smith, Kathleen Mensch and Shea Casey each had eight points and Emma Gristina hit two free throws with 40 seconds remaining to lead Westhampton (4-2) in non-league.

Farmingdale 100, Great Neck South 85: Anthony Parrinello won the 200 freestyle (2:02.61) and 500 freestyle (5:33.77) to lead Farmingdale (3-0).
