Matthew Zambriski struck out 13 over six scoreless innings for Riverhead’s baseball team Monday in its 2-1 home win over Brentwood. He then went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and three runs scored, including the walk-off run on a passed ball in Riverhead’s 7-6 win over Brentwood to complete a Suffolk I doubleheader sweep.

Jason Davis earned the save and went 2-for-3 with two doubles in Game 1. He pitched three shutout innings in Game 2, allowing one hit with five strikeouts. Drew LeGrady went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Game 1 for Riverhead (2-3).

Baldwin 17, Valley Stream Central 14: Jacob Lopez hit a three-run walk-off home run in the seventh inning for Baldwin (4-3) in Nassau AAA-II. He went 2-for-4 with four RBIs.

Wheatley 2, Wantagh 0: Krish Patel pitched a complete game shutout, striking out eight to earn the win for Wheatley (4-2) in Nassau A. TJ Samuel went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Casey Quinn went 1-for-4 with an RBI. PJ O’Connor went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Sal Ansaldi had seven strikeouts for Wantagh (4-2).

Floral Park 3, Seaford 1: Jake Ragusa struck out nine and allowed one run over 6 1⁄3 innings for Floral Park (1-5) in Nassau A. Ragusa also walked and scored a run.

Westbury 9, West Hempstead 3: Jonathan Cruz tossed six hitless innings with 17 strikeouts and two walks while going 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBIs to lead Westbury (3-2) in non-league. Carmine Ioannou went 1-for-2 with an RBI and pitched a scoreless seventh inning.

Syosset 9, Oceanside 5: David Lieberman struck out five and walked one over 6 1⁄3 innings to lead Syosset (2-3) in Nassau AAA-I. Gio Daniele, Ryan Steinberg and Dylan Santucci each hit a triple to pace the offense.

Plainedge 6, North Shore 4: Jaxson Torres hit a pinch-hit two-run single to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning, and then AJ Calapai scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch for Plainedge (6-0) in Nassau A. Taylor Nitsch hit a two-run single to put Plainedge up 5-2 in the sixth and finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.

Jayden Gaghan went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Adam Rosenberg pitched 4 1⁄3 innings in relief, allowing two runs without walking anyone to earn the win.

SOFTBALL

Wheatley 11, Hewlett 5: Lia Arduni went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and had six strikeouts to lead Wheatley (3-1) in Nassau IV. Sophia Reichman went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Cat Surleti hit a home run and had two RBIs. Isabella Shinwas went 2-for-2 with a home run. Reagan Dunn went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a stolen base.

North Babylon 9, Bay Shore 8: Alyssa DeCotis and Mackenzie Pineiro each had an RBI in the top of the seventh to put North Babylon (3-1) ahead in Suffolk II. Karli Gotta had a one-out single in the seventh and Alyssa DeCotis singled to drive in Gotta and break the tie. Pineiro followed with an RBI double. Madison Mylnarkiewicz and Alexa Furman each had three hits. Sydney Schhaaf went 3-for-3 for Bay Shore (1-4).

Freeport 14, Valley Stream Central 12: Deanna Reyes hit a two-run home run and drove in five runs for Freeport (3-1) in Nassau V. Wenelyis Reyes hit two triples and drove in a run. Melanie Mendez scored four runs and Gabriella Nurse had a hit and two RBIs and struck out 10. Simran Kaur hit a home run for Valley Stream Central (3-1).

Clarke 16, Carey 4: Leila Thakkar went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and five RBIs to lift Clarke (3-1) to a Nassau II win. Olivia Giardino and Giselle Palumbo each had three hits.

Ward Melville 3, Commack 0: Quinn Amari and Kaitlyn Morales each went 2-for-2, with Amari driving in a run for Ward Melville (4-1) in Suffolk II. Haley Mauser and Julianna Russ also both had an RBI. Russ pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out seven.

BOYS LACROSSE

Stony Brook School 17, North Babylon 5: Nico Spallina had five goals and four assists for Stony Brook School (6-0) in non-league. JJ Ramsay added three goals and two assists, and Stef Sordyl had two goals and three assists. Nico D’Alto scored five goals. Christian Kimmy won 17 faceoffs and six ground balls. Patrick Torre had 14 saves for North Babylon (2-3).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Half Hollow Hills 17, Copiague 2: Kayla Grochow had four goals and three assists, scoring her 100th career point for Half Hollow Hills (1-1) in Suffolk I. Addie Corry had a goal and four assists and Alexa Raio scored three goals. Carolina Acosta added 14 saves for Copiague (0-3).

Islip 14, West Babylon 5: Caitlin Barnes had six goals, two assists, and nine draw controls for Islip (2-2) in Suffolk II.

Sayville 16, Rocky Point 8: Sophia Buffardi and Dylan McNamara both had four goals and an assist for Sayville (4-0) in Suffolk II.
