Meraz's goal, assist boost Hampton Bays
Chris Meraz scored an unassisted goal 15 minutes into the first half to give Hampton Bays (5-3) a two-goal lead in its 2-1 win over visiting Center Moriches in Suffolk League VII boys soccer Monday. Meraz also assisted on Diego Villacorta's goal 46 seconds into the game. Matt Phillips made five saves. McBride's goal in the 60th minute tied the score at 1. Jackson Sirica made nine saves. Frank Naccarato scored a first-half goal for Whitman (1-5-1).Newfield 5, Copiague 2: Sam Durkot had two goals and two assists for Newfield (7-1) in League III. Steven Lopes added two goals and an assist and Steve Larkin also scored a goal.
