Sam Milazzo hit both ends of a one-and-one with eight seconds left to give Bellmore JFK a two-point lead en route to a 38-35 win over Lawrence in non-league girls basketball yesterday.

Samantha Finkel scored 16 points and Milazzo added seven points for Bellmore JFK (3-1). Lawrence's Nicole Robinson had 13 points.

Long Beach 39, Carey 33: Molly Martin had 11 points and 14 rebounds for Long Beach in Conference AA-I. Perri Steiner added nine points, seven rebounds and five blocks.

North Shore 82, Mineola 52: Amanda Johansen had 20 points, 21 rebounds, 10 steals and six assists in her second triple-double of the season for North Shore (2-0) in A-IV. Mineola's Kerri Medlock had 25 points and 21 rebounds.
