Pat-Med's Calandra rolls a 300
Patchogue-Medford junior Jessica Calandra bowled 300 in the second game of a 735 series, but Pat-Med fell to Longwood, 2-1, in a Suffolk girls League II bowling match Thursday.
It was the fourth consecutive 700-plus series this season for Calandra. Brianna Meyer bowled a 212 in Game 1 of a 607 series to lead Longwood in its 798-925, 925-915, 936-837 win.
Commack 2, Middle Country 1: Kim Curreri bowled a 278 in the first game of a 723 series for Commack in a 1,064-1,000, 938-935, 965-1,005 win in League I. Curreri's 278 game and 723 series were both school records, according to Commack coach Harold Cooley.
BOYS BOWLING
Sewanhaka District 3, Oyster Bay 0: Tommy Genova rolled a 280 in Game 3 of a 692 series and Joshua Kramer bowled a 259 in Game 1 of a 685 series for Sewanhaka District in a 859-589, 915-658, 863-743 win in Nassau Conference II.
Plainview JFK 3, Bethpage 0: Matthew Farber bowled 279 in the first game of an 806 series as Plainview JFK prevailed, 850-795, 931-829, 781-759, in Conference III. Louis Buchman rolled a 248 in Game 2 of a 636 series for Plainview JFK (5-3).
Smithtown 3, Commack 0: Gregg Reed bowled 278 in the second game of a 693 series to lift Smithtown, 915-863, 1,051-981, 926-856, in Suffolk League II.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Herricks 56, Mepham 50: Andrew Fellus had 21 points and seven assists and went 6-for-7 from the line in the fourth quarter to help preserve the win for Herricks (3-1) in Conference AA-III.
Locust Valley 38, Cold Spring Harbor 35: Bradley Conn's basket with 30 seconds left provided the final margin for Locust Valley (3-0) in Conference BC. Matt Campanella had 13 points to lead Locust Valley.
Brentwood 51, Commack 48: Lawrence Hall had 15 points to lead Brentwood (2-0) in League I. Femi Olujobi added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
East Hampton 60, Bayport-Blue Point 58, OT: Thomas King had four of his 18 points in overtime and added a block with eight seconds left to help lift East Hampton (2-1) in League V. Bayport-Blue Point's Steve Longo made a basket with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
Rocky Point 48, Islip 47: Joe Kingston (20 points) hit his sixth three-pointer of the game with just over a minute left to give Rocky Point (3-1) a 48-44 lead in League V.
Southold 59, Stony Brook 47: Winston Wilcenski had 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists to lead Southold (2-0) in League VIII.
Chaminade 66, St. Dominic 64: John Patterson had 15 points and 10 rebounds in his first game of the season to lead Chaminade (1-0) in its CHSAA opener. John Gallego (14 points, eight assists) made two foul shots to give Chaminade a 66-62 lead with six seconds left.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Hicksville 46, Valley Stream Central 40: Caitlyn Garger had 18 of her 26 points in a 28-22 second half for Hicksville (3-1 Nassau Conference AA-II), which shot 12-for-14 from the free-throw line in the final quarter.
Longwood 42, Sachem North 37: Kiery West had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Aliyah Blake had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Longwood (3-0) in League I.
Bay Shore 46, West Islip 38: Megan Schoberl had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Courtney Bocchieri had 10 points and 22 rebounds for Bay Shore (1-2) in League II.
Smithtown West 38, Centereach 36: Melissa Meyers had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks to lead Smithtown West (2-1) in League III. Savannah Miller had eight points, nine steals and five assists and Gabby Cabello added seven points, including a key three-pointer down the stretch to seal the win.
Amityville 56, Mount Sinai 46: Janice Jenkins had 25 points and 11 rebounds and Raven Price had 14 points and 14 rebounds for Amityville (2-1) in League VI.
Bayport-Blue Point 47, East Hampton 35: Paige Faherty had 20 points and 13 rebounds, Cassie Dooley had 11 points and 6 assists and Rebecca Raber grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Bayport-Blue Point (6-3, 2-1) in League VI.

Valley Stream District 1,090, Massapequa 1,067: Danielle Coumo scored 291 to lead Valley Stream District. Christopher Esposito shot 278 for Massapequa.
BOYS SWIMMING
Half Hollow Hills 97, Hauppauge 84: Isaac Vingan won the 200 individual medley (2:06.34) and the 100 breaststroke (1:05.70) to lead Half Hollow Hills (2-1) in non-league. Hauppauge's Justin Plaschka won the 100 freestyle in a school-record time of 47.06, breaking the old record of 47.22.
