On the Par 3, 160-yard third hole at Crab Meadow Golf Course, freshman Patrick Sclafani took a four iron out of his bag and with the wind in his face stepped up to the tee box and rolled in a hole-in-one for Huntington in its 8-1 win over Glenn in Suffolk III. Sclafani shot a 7-over 43 on the front nine.

According to coach Mike Marinello wind gusts ranged from 35-40 miles per hour throughout the match.

“I have been coaching for 15 years and it was the first time I have seen a player in competition have a hole-in-one,” Marinello said. “It is a nice feat for any golfer, but it was a real treat to have him do it under the tough conditions.”
