Brittany Dost’s sacrifice fly in the sixth inning drove in Jaidyn Ness and broke a tie in Centereach’s 7-6 win over Bellport in Suffolk III softball. Brittany’s sister, Peyton, hit a two-run double earlier in the inning that tied the score at 6. Brittany Dost struck out nine and Erin Lema hit a home run for Centereach (2-3).

Bay Shore 9, Islip 3: Emily Wolfe struck out eight and allowed five walks and 10 hits in non-league.

Sophomore second baseman Tiffany Mendez was 3-for-3 with three doubles, Caroline Hobbes was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Kaelyn Pellman was 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Plainedge 8, Syosset 3: Natalie Wescott had nine strikeouts and picked up the win to lead Plainedge (1-2) in Nassau II. Avery Linn picked up three hits and drove in two runs. Julia Renny hit a home run for Syosset.

Cold Spring Harbor 12, Hewlett 8: Elsie Posillico hit a triple to right centerfield that drove in two runs and started a five-run fourth inning that gave Cold Spring Harbor the lead in its Nassau VI win over Hewlett. Brooke Antolin and Mackenzie Murray each added two hits and three RBI. Zabelle Bobelian pitched a complete game and struck out six batters.

Sayville 12, Harborfields 0: Sophia Elderbaum struck out nine and picked up the win to lead Sayville (3-0) in Suffolk V. Sarah Blaskiewicz hit two doubles and had three RBIs.

Delilah Cummings hit a triple and had three RBIs.

Kings Park 18, Rocky Point 4: Grace Heim hit a three-run homer with five RBIs and struck out 12 batters on the mound to lead Kings Park (1-1) over Rocky Point in Suffolk V. Gianna Pizzulli had three hits for Kings Park.

Baldwin 21, North Shore 14: Taylor Darcy and Dylan Reyer each went 5-for-5 with four runs scored to lead Baldwin (1-0) in Nassau IV. Reyer drove in four runs and Darcy had three RBIs. Erin Timmes and Jessica Darcy each added four hits and three RBIs.

Hicksville 11, Seaford 3: Gabby Smith had a double, home run and three RBIs to lead Hicksville (1-0) in Nassau II. Ashley Pierce went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Emily Adamo had a double and a triple with three RBIs and ToniAnn Adamo went 2-for-4 and pitched a complete game with three strikeouts. Isabella Marchini added a triple and Madison Tarra had two doubles.

Bellport 16, Half Hollow Hills East 2: Hannah De Los Santos went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI and Aarilin Pitre went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI to lead Bellport in Suffolk III.

BASEBALL

Wheatley 7 Locust Valley 2: Costa Koutsoftas went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in Nassau B/C. Jake Meirowitz went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Kyle Rosenberg allowed two runs, three hits, and struck out five in 6 1⁄3 innings. Dylan Rosenberg and Matt Hetzel both had two hits for Wheatley (4-0).

Jericho 12, Hempstead 1: William Zhu went 3-for-3 with a double and drove in three runs to lead Jericho (2-0) in non-league. Andrew Lenneberg had two RBIs. Mario Cabrera picked up the win for Jericho.

Half Hollow Hills West 9, Kings Park 2: Michael Steinberg went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Half Hollow Hills West (1-0) in Suffolk V. Dillon Aery went 2-for-4 and picked up an RBI.

Island Trees 10, North Shore 0: Vinny Giambona went six innings, allowing three hits and striking out eight to lead Island Trees (1-3) in Nassau A-IV. Giambona also went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Justin Mott and Tyler Feldman each had two hits.

Brentwood 15, Longwood 9: Kevin Fajardo pitched five innings and gave up three earned runs while striking out nine to lead Brentwood (1-3) in Suffolk I. Farjardo also went 3-3 at the plate with three RBIs. Aaron Oliver’s grand slam gave Brentwood a 9-5 lead. Rob Ortiz went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs. Erik Campis also went 2-for-2 with two walks and three RBIs.
