Terence Simpson had 30 points, 20 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead Portledge to a 53-31 win over Knox in an IPPSAL boys basketball game.

The 20 rebounds is a school record, according to Portledge coach Nick Woll. Matt Goldstein added 14 points and six rebounds. Kevin Chen had 12 points to lead Knox.

Islip 59, Miller Place 47: Tighe Oberg had 21 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks to lead Islip. Jo'el Wooten added 11 points and four steals. Corey Markiewicz scored 16 points for Miller Place.Valley Stream South 71, Syosset 55: Dana King scored 23 in the first round of the Wantagh Winter Tournament and Diego Maldonado had 21 points. Valley Stream South will play Wantagh in the final. Wantagh 64, Plainview JFK 51: Eric Regenbogen scored 22 points for Wantagh in the first round of the Wantagh Winter Tournament. Gerard Roche added 20 points in the win. Greenport 50, Port Jefferson 32: Austin Hooks scored 16 points and Gavin Dibble had 12 points, nine assists, and six steals.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Portledge 44, Knox 11: Tamara Simpson scored 13 points and Morgan Follet had nine points for Portledge.Waldorf 63, Our Savior New American 22: Ajanai Miller had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Isabella Fraim 12 points for Waldorf.

Floral Park 56, Mineola 29: Lorraine Hickman scored 13 of her 15 points in the first half, Erica Bowe scored 10 and Valerie Fox had nine points and four steals for Floral Park.

Islip 52, Half Hollow Hills East 48: Shannon Duer led Islip with 24 points and 13 rebounds and freshman Julia Hande had a career-high 13 points for Islip.

Mount Sinai 51, Rocky Point 18: Marisa Colacino had 10 points, four rebounds and five steals, and Kate Hogan had five blocks for Mount Sinai.

Manhasset 58, West Hempstead 44: Madison Molinari scored 12 of her 15 points in an 18-10 fourth quarter to seal the win for Manhasset. She also had five assists and five steals. Teammate Jackie Albanese scored 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting from three-point range. Jackie Christenson led West Hempstead with 17 points.Wheatley 50, Port Washington 36: Chelsea Pincus had a game-high 15 points to go with five steals and four assists to lead Wheatley. Megan Murphy added 10 points and 10 rebounds and Rebecca Braito had 12 points and eight rebounds in the win.Bayport-Blue Point 35, Newfield 27: Kaitlyn Leahy had 12 points and four steals for Bayport-Blue Point. Paige Faherty added seven points, 15 rebounds and four steals in the victory for B-BP.

Bay Shore 35, West Islip 24: Carly Cox had 10 points to lead Bay Shore.

Pierson-Bridgehampton 52, Mercy 28: Bridget Canavan had eight points and five rebounds and Julia Schiavoni had six points and eight rebounds to lead Pierson-Bridgehampton.

Locust Valley 44, Plainview JFK 35: Brooke Spallino scored 12 points for Locust Valley.

Eastport-South Manor 49, Southold-Greenport 37: Nijay Brown had 15 points and Laura Kesnig scored nine of her 11 points in the second half to lead Eastport-South Manor.

Garden City 60, Seaford 48: Samantha Auricchio had 24 points and seven rebounds, and Taylor Carpentier 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Garden City. Tara DeAngelo added 10 points and a career-high 11 steals in the victory for Garden City.Sayville 57, Port Jefferson 40: Emily Goczan had 12 points to lead Sayville.

Glen Cove 58, Clarke 31: Both Rianna Cedeno and Taylah Hudson scored 17 points for Glen Cove. Cedeno also had three blocked shots and Hudson had 10 steals. Tristyn Hudson had 11 points and seven assists for Glen Cove. Lawrence 56, East Rockaway 43: Nicole Robinson had 23 points and 23 rebounds, and Dina Goldstein 13 points for Lawrence.

North Babylon 31, St. Dominic 25: Brittany Hicks had 11 points and Makeda Nicholas had six points and seven blocks to lead North Babylon.
