Jack Ferraro scored the winning goal with 30 seconds left to lead Hicksville to a 7-6 victory over Hewlett in Nassau Conference II boys lacrosse on Wednesday. He also scored the tying goal with 3:26 remaining. Brendan Dalton had two goals and two assists. Mike Gilbert scored two goals. Chris Suflay made 12 saves for the Comets (5-9).

Stefano Borsellino had a goal and an assist for Hewlett (5-10).

East Islip 14, Westhampton 9: Sean Hannigan had three goals and six assists to lead East Islip (12-3) in Suffolk II. Brayden Black had one goal and four assists. Jack Kalinowski added four goals and Drew Walendowski made 14 saves. Cayden Peters had two goals and one assist and Charlie Beasley made 10 saves for Westhampton (8-7).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Division 18, Baldwin 8: Mia Gray had five goals and an assist and Nevaeh Motes had four goals and three assists to lead No. 9 Division over No. 8 Baldwin in the first round of the Nassau Class B playoffs. Gabby Florio had four goals, Paige Murphy had two goals and four assists and Hailey Vecchio had a goal and four assists. Division (15-2) will visit No. 1 Garden City in the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. on Friday. Ava Jerome had three goals for Baldwin, which finished 1-14.

East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Pierson/Ross 11, Whitman 10: Carly Fromm scored the winning goal at the overtime buzzer to lead East Hampton/Bridgehampton / Pierson/Ross (5-10) in Suffolk I. Ava Tintle had four goals and an assist. Cali Wilson had three goals and two assists. Lola Eldridge had a goal and four assists. Isabella Fiorelli had five goals and an assist for Whitman (5-10).

Floyd 13, Patchogue-Medford 6: Ava Tiedemann had six goals to lead Floyd (10-5) in Suffolk I. Rylie Wiegand added two goals and two assists and Emma DiMaio had one goal and four assists. Isabella Petersen had one goal and three assists for Patchogue-Medford (9-5).

BASEBALL

Carle Place 3, East Rockaway 2: Roman Sandonato struck out 10 in 5 1⁄3  innings to lead Carle Place (14-6) in Nassau B. Michael Tucholski struck out two in a five-out save. Philip Bunt went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Colin Driscoll hit a solo home run. Ryan Kang and Tommy Schoch each had an RBI.

Sachem North 6, Half Hollow Hills West 5: Quinn Fiene hit a walk-off RBI single in the seventh inning to lead Sachem North (15-5) in non-league. Jacob Tonnies earned the win, striking out five and allowing three hits and one earned run in 4 2⁄3 innings of relief. Matt Podesta had a double and two RBIs.

TUESDAY’S GAMES

Clarke 4, Wantagh 2: Matt Kurz hit a two-out two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to lead Clarke (17-2) in Nassau A-I. He also hit a two-out RBI double in the fifth inning. Richard Luke allowed one earned run in a complete-game victory.

Whitman 4, Riverhead 0: Jaden Grose struck out 10 and walked two in a three-hit shutout to lead Whitman (11-7) in Suffolk I.

SOFTBALL

Rocky Point 9, Westhampton 4: Reese Berzolla struck out seven in a complete game for her sixth win of the season to lead Rocky Point (13-5) in Suffolk V. Raylee Weisman went 3-for-4 with three runs, Taylor Aschettino had two RBIs, Bailey Williams went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Abby Culley had three RBIs.

TUESDAY’S GAMES

Roslyn 10, Hewlett 5: Daniela Lumetta went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Eva Spiegelman went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead Roslyn in a Nassau Class AA play-in game. Arabella Calo went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Hannah Mandell struck out 11 in a complete game. No. 12 Roslyn (14-4) will visit No. 5 Bellmore JFK in the first round at 5 p.m. on Thursday. Hewlett finished 16-3.

Locust Valley 8, Floral Park 0: Gwen Velsor went 3-for-4 with a triple to lead Locust Valley in a Nassau Class A play-in game. Sofia Baron struck out 11 in a complete game. Olivia Tomlinson went 1-for-2 with a double. No. 8 Locust Valley (12-5) will visit No. 1 Seaford in the quarterfinals at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Tiffany Matthews struck out eight in a complete game for Floral Park, which finished 15-2.

FLAG FOOTBALL

TUESDAY’S GAME

Lynbrook 12, Cold Spring Harbor 6: Aliye Simsek threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Chloe Roemig to win it in overtime for Lynbrook (6-7) in Nassau B/C. On the opening possession of overtime, Avery Milukas had her second interception of the game to set up the winning drive. With the score tied at 6 with just over five minutes left in regulation, Penelope Yaker pulled a flag at the 1-yard line to stop Cold Spring Harbor’s go-ahead one-point attempt. Arianna Lanzello had 70 total yards and a touchdown run. Jaida Luparello threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Camryn Woodworth for the Seahawks (3-10).
