Saturday's high school sports roundup: Playoff scores in boys and girls soccer, field hockey and girls volleyball

Natalia Pacholska dove to her left to save her third penalty kick and secure No. 7 Lindenhurst’s 2-1 win via a shootout over No. 10 Sachem North on Saturday in the first round of the Suffolk Class AAA girls soccer playoffs. Joelle Trenka’s goal as the third penalty kick attempt tied the score, with Lili Vorndamme-Cajigal’s goal right after giving the Bulldogs the lead. Pacholska made 13 saves prior to the shootout, conceding zero goals. Lindenhurst (11-6) will travel to No. 2 Commack at noon on Tuesday for the quarterfinals. Mattea Vino saved seven shots, including a penalty kick in the shootout, for Sachem North (7-8-2).
BOYS SOCCER
Huntington 2, West Islip 0: Brian Fuentes converted a rebound with 20 minutes left in the game to break a scoreless tie and lead No. 8 Huntington over No. 9 West Islip in the first round of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Ezra Oddoye added a goal and Edwin Caballero made four saves in the shutout. Huntington (10-6-1) will travel to No. 1 Northport at 4 p.m on Tuesday for the quarterfinals. West Islip finishes 6-6-5.
Hauppauge 3, East Islip 0: Devan Delarosa, Ethan Kyle and Jack DiPasquale each scored a goal to lead No. 7 Hauppauge over No. 10 East Islip in the first round of the Suffolk AA playoffs. Nico Mieles had seven saves in the shutout. Hauppauge (9-5-3) will travel to No. 2 Deer Park at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday for the quarterfinals. East Islip finishes 6-7-4.
FIELD HOCKEY
Rocky Point 1, Sayville 0: Raylee Weisman scored on a reverse chip on a corner from Taylor Aschettino with 4:40 remaining in the second overtime to lead No. 9 Rocky Point over No. 8 Sayville in the first round of the Suffolk Class B playoffs. Ireland Protosow and Caitlyn Weinfeld each had one blocked shot and Brielle Merlo made 11 saves and faced 15 defensive corners. Rocky Point (9-8) will travel to No. 1 Eastport-South Manor at 4 p.m. on Tuesday for the quarterfinals. Sayville finishes 8-9.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Connetquot 3, Northport 0: Alex Patsos had 15 kills, 13 digs, three aces, two assists and a block to lead No. 2 Connetquot over No. 7 Northport, 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-18), in the Suffolk Class AAA quarterfinals. Leah White had 24 assists, six digs, two kills, two aces and a block. Gisele Trzaskalski and Kara Ryden combined for 13 kills. Ava Truglio added two kills and three blocks. Mia Graziano had five digs, two aces and two assists. Connetquot (18-1) will face No. 3 Ward Melville at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the semifinals.
Smithtown East 3, Bellport 0: Skyla Sullivan had 10 kills, four digs and two aces to lead No. 3 Smithtown East, 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-14), over No. 6 Bellport in the quarterfinals of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Brianna Cerullo had eight kills, six digs and four aces and Sam Keil had seven kills, five blocks, two aces and two assists. Sadie LaPresti had 15 assists, three digs and two aces and Lily Sullivan had 10 digs, four assists and three aces. Rosie Remsen had 13 assists, five digs and three aces. Smithtown East (16-2) will visit No. 2 Smithtown West at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the semifinals.
