Amanda Seekamp scored the winner on a free-position shot with 20 seconds left in the game to lead East Hampton over Westhampton, 13-12, Tuesday in the girls lacrosse non-league season opener. Amanda Seekamp finished with four assists, Carley Seekamp had five goals and one assist and Maggie Pizzo had three goals.

Ward Melville 6, Sayville 5: Erin Cunningham's goal with 1:31 left gave WM a 6-4 lead.

Carey 16, Sewanhaka 15: Jamie Dahl's goal with 11:28 left broke a tie at 11 as Carey came back from a 7-5 halftime deficit in the Conference B-II opener. Maria Garguilo had six goals and two assists.New Hyde Park 14, Mepham 8: Kristen Lynch had six goals and six assists and Jillian Graziano had five goals and five assists to lead NHP in their Conference B-II opener.

Herricks 5, Roslyn 4: Lauren Basceli scored with 2:39 left to tie the score at 3 and Victoria Marano scored the winner unassisted with 1:29 left to lead Herricks. Kristina Stacom had 12 saves, including five in the last five minutes.Wheatley 16, Great Neck South 9: Sophomore Julia Balboni had a career-high five goals and one assist for Wheatley. Olivia McCracked had three goals and four assists and Ari Zetlin added four goals and two assists. Alex Yagilowich had 13 saves.

Long Island Lutheran 19, Our Lady of Mercy 16: Junior Caroline Dottino had a career-high seven goals and added two assists to lead Lutheran.

BOYS LACROSSE

West Babylon 10, East Islip 9: Alex McDermott scored the winner with 3:06 left in overtime to lead WB in the non-league opener. East Islip overcame a 8-5 third-quarter deficit to force overtime.

Bayport-Blue Point 14, Sachem East 7: Ralph Fabiani made 20 saves and Brian White had four goals and two assists to lead BBP.

Port Washington 12, Locust Valley 11:Jake Froccaro (five goals) scored with 3:25 left to give Port Washington a 12-10 lead in the non-league opener. John Crawley added four goals and an assist.

Plainview JFK 8, Jericho 6: Josh Heller scored the go-ahead goal with 5:06 left to play for PJFK. Dan Desimone's goal with 2:57 left provided the final margin as Plainview, led by Alex Seltzer (seven saves), shut out Jericho in the fourth quarter. Heller had three goals and one assist.

North Shore 9, Calhoun 4: Junior Bryan Goetz scored a career-high five goals for North Shore. Plainedge 8, Kellenberg 6: Sophomore Nick Casazza scored his first varsity goal in the third quarter to give Plainedge a 6-5 lead.Holy Trinity 8, Farmingdale 7: Mike Plaia had four goals and Chris Laviano had three goals to lead Trinity. Sam Weiss had 14 saves.SOFTBALL

Roslyn 2, Wheatley 1: Roslyn's Mariel Chase singled home Amanda Green from third base for the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning of the non-league opener.

Valley Stream North 7, Carey 6: Dana Morgante tripled and Kelly McConville drove her in with a single to give North a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning in non-league.Pierson/Bridgehampton 12, Southold/Greenport 0: Melanie Stafford went 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead Pierson/Bridgehampton (1-0) in League VIII. Kasey Gilbride went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs, and Sarah Cafiero was 3-for-5 with five runs and two RBIs.

Bay Shore 4, Sachem East 3: Tim Bryant and Jack McLoughlin won in the deciding match at third doubles, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1, to lead Bay Shore in non-league.Whitman 6, Connetquot 1: Brandon Stone defeated Sean Dylan 6-1, 6-0 at first singles to lead Whitman in the non-league opener.
