(Last week’s ranking in parentheses)

1. Oceanside (2)

Oceanside (17-3) enjoyed a perfect 3-0 week clinching the Nassau I title. Caroline Ferchland has been dominant for the Sailors, ending the regular season with 37 straight scoreless innings. Oceanside heads into the postseason on a 10-game winning streak and looks like the team to beat in class AAA.

2. St. Anthony’s (1)

The Friars’ 67-game winning streak against NSCHSAA opponents snapped with a loss to Kellenberg on Friday. St. Anthony’s (18-5) has had a bumpy road with three losses in the last two weeks, but with the playoffs around the corner, expect the five-time defending state CHSAA champs to iron out any wrinkles.

3. Sachem North (4)

Delany Mathes’ walk-off home run in a 4-3 win over Northport kept Sachem North in sole possession of the top spot in League II. With two games remaining, Sachem North (16-2) looks primed to enter the AAA playoffs as the top seed.

4. Wantagh (5)

Wantagh (11-5) finished the season with a 2-1 week, picking up wins over Glen Cove and Mepham to lock up the top seed in the class A bracket. The team scored 20 runs in its two wins, but were shutout in a 4-0 loss to Seaford, a team they could see in the county final.

5. Massapequa (3)

Massapequa finished with a .500 week, picking up wins over Mepham and Seaford, but suffering losses to Kellenberg and Syosset. Its offense has had six games scoring double digit runs this season but hasn’t scored more than six runs over its last five. Massapequa (13-7) can flip a switch at any moment, behind Maeve Schiereck’s team leading 1.402 OPS.

6. Miller Place (6)

Winners of six straight, the reigning Class A state champions are peaking at the right time. Thursday’s regular season finale against Kings Park could well be for the League V title. Kings Park is the only Suffolk team to beat Miller Place (14-3) this season.

7. Kellenberg (On the cusp)

The Firebirds couldn't have had a better week. Wins over Massapequa, St. Anthony’s and East Islip catapult them ahead of other worthy teams. Kellenberg’s 5-2 win over St. Anthony’s was the Friars’ first loss to an NSCHSAA opponent since 2021. Will Kellenberg (14-8) dethrone St. Anthony’s in the playoffs?

8. Commack (7)

The Cougars (14-3) extended their winning streak to eight games with dominant wins over Connetquot and Copiague. Kate Schweitzer continued her dominant pitching run with a six-inning perfect game and 16 strikeouts against Copiague on Friday.

9. Seaford (On the cusp)

Seafood (9-8) is a nightmare matchup and that’s due in large part to sophomore Rylie Betz. The Vikings have the second lowest run total in conference I but still post a positive run differential (+9) as Betz has posted a .926 ERA. Betz also leads the team in batting average (.357) and OPS (.854).

10. East Islip (9)

A 6-5 win over Deer Park was important for the League III title race. East Islip (11-5) has a big week ahead with games against second-place Smithtown West and third-place West Babylon to close the regular season.

On the cusp: Calhoun, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, Kings Park, Mepham, Northport
