St. John the Baptist tops St. Anthony's, Kellenberg

Third-seeded St. John the Baptist defeated top-seeded and previously undefeated St. Anthony's, 2-1, on Saturday in a double-elimination CHSAA softball playoff game. Erin Caputo got the victory. Earlier Saturday, Allison Schmidt's double in the top of the seventh drove in Ryan Quick with the go-ahead run to lead St. John the Baptist to a 4-3 win over No. 2 Kellenberg.

In other Saturday games, Victoria Sindone went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs to lead Kellenberg over No. 4 Holy Trinity, 11-3. St. Anthony's also defeated Holy Trinity, 5-1. Holy Trinity was eliminated and finished 9-10 for the season.

St. Anthony's (19-1) will play Kellenberg (18-9) at 3 p.m. today at Hofstra for a spot in the finals against St. John the Baptist (17-3). The best-of-three finals begin at 5 p.m. today at Hofstra.
