Tarpey's goal helps Centereach beat Sachem North

Kevin Tarpey scored with 17:25 remaining in the second half off a feed from Jason Scolaro as Centereach topped Sachem North, 2-1, in non-league boys soccer Saturday.

Mike Hollowell scored off a pass from Joey Bello to give Centereach a 1-0 lead early in the second half. Christian Demers led the Centereach defense with five saves.

Marlon Peregrina scored for Sachem North.

Baldwin 2, Bellmore JFK 0: Chris Walsh scored both goals for Baldwin (1-0) in non-league. Sophomore Dan Capone had nine saves in his varsity debut and Stephan Tang had an assist for the Bruins.

Glenn 2, North Babylon 0: Kyle Madden and Giovanni Paredes each scored a goal to lead Glenn (1-0) in non-league. Islip 3, Shoreham-Wading River 0: Alfredis Marquez scored twice in the first half and Neil Feminella added a goal for Islip (1-0) in non-league.

Locust Valley 2, West Hempstead 1: Nick Iovino scored an unassisted goal with two minutes left in the first half for Locust Valley (1-0) in non-league.
